So they are some ropes that you can hold onto to not slip. And it smells like sulfur, which is expected at a natural springs. This is the waterfall part. The waterfall is artificial, but still nice. The area is slippery and there are ropes to help you walk around. Make sure you don't hang on the ropes and be careful of your footing. Upstream of the waterfall is a good spot for a bum-slide, but watch the bump in the middle. A very fun spot, a mix between rusty and rustic. Crowds are hit or miss. Definitely more enjoyable in colder weather. This part is a little bit colder (but still warm enough) than the pool all the way upstream (4-5 minutes walk). Man, this thermal pool is tucked away in a slice of Greek paradise. The surroundings are lush with natural beauty, making you feel like you've just stepped into some ancient myth. The here is like liquid gold, full of minerals that make your skin feel like a million bucks. It's clear and inviting, but there's always this slight worry about how often they clean it up. Don't expect much in the way of fancy amenities here. I didn't see any changing rooms or showers nearby, so you might want to bring your own towel and maybe a change of clothes. It's a bit of a gamble. On some days, it's just you and the soothing sounds of nature; on others, it feels like half of Greece decided to take a dip here too. Soaking in this pool feels like you're getting a hug from Mother Earth herself. The warmth of the seeps into your bones, but remember, the comfort can swing with the weather or how busy it gets. Make sure as in all the hot springs don't stay more than 20-30 minutes as the sulfur might make you feel dizzy or sick and have pain in your stomach(like being heavily drunk). Just stay 20 minute max to get the most benefits out of it. Very hot water, strong sulphur smell, totally free with plenty of parking nearby. Best to visit in winter, summer it's hot outside and hot in the water, it can get a bit much. warm but it's not maintained so it's a shame. but in other side it's natural and free.the locals in the area come here a lot. pay attention to whom who lives there and don't leave expansive stuff in the car. The only unpleasant thing is that there is a refugee center nearby and I heard about certain unpleasant incidents, raids, thefts, maybe in the darker part of the day and you have to be careful! In addition, you have to be careful because the rocks are slippery and I don’t recommend entering the with jewelry because it oxidizes. Besides, I really recommend visiting this place because it's worth it! The thermal baths provide ample parking and a relaxing experience, but the surrounding area is poorly maintained. VERY slippery so be very careful. Locals selling water, fresh fruit and preserves. The thermal springs flow from further upstream and at some point in the past a business operated here. They diverted the river creating waterfalls and installed some concrete barriers creating a pool. I suspect locals have tied ropes across the river to permit walking across the slippery stone more stable. Sadly the business is now long gone, leaving a derelict building and rusting fences behind, but the pool and waterfalls remain. It was clear the spot is a favourite of locals as well as travellers as we encountered many of both while we basked in the hot waters. The entire experience was wonderful. Don’t be put off by comments about refugees, there is an accommodation building nearby, they’ve simply had the good fortune to be placed near the springs and also make use of them. However, if you aren’t comfortable here then try either upstream or downstream a short walk. There are many other places to bathe in the marvellously hot water, enough to find somewhere to bathe alone if that’s your preference.
