The views are breathtaking. The food was delicious. The was excellent. We started with a tasty beef and noodle soup. Then we had the beef and duck with homemade pasta and potatoes. Finished it off with some apple strudel for dessert. Such a beautiful place! Didn't not stay here so I know nothing about the cute little cottages. I recently spent a night here and loved the natural surroundings and the laid-back atmosphere. The location is truly breathtaking. You're surrounded by vineyards, rolling hills, and nothing but silence from nature. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel your shoulders drop. The outdoor areas are perfect for relaxing with a glass of their house wine – which, by the way, is excellent. I really enjoyed their graševina and pinot noir. The rooms have a lot of charm – think wooden beams, countryside décor, and a cozy feeling. However, they are very noisy. You hear footsteps, doors, voices... even normal conversation carries through the walls. So if you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs or ask for a more isolated room if possible. It’s a shame, because otherwise the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The restaurant has a lovely setting and friendly service, but the food itself felt quite average and slightly overpriced. The dishes were simple and didn’t quite match the level you'd expect from such a unique location. That said, the wines made up for it, and I hope the kitchen improves over time – it certainly has the potential. Despite a few downsides, I’d still return for the nature, the wine, and the peaceful setting. Just be aware of the noise inside the rooms and set your food expectations accordingly. With a few small improvements, Vuglec Breg could be a top destination. OK, friend recommend this restaurant as one of Zagorje’s best. And he was right! I was in the restaurant. I am originally Zagorka and i know what good mlinci and purica and strukli are. I really don’t get all the negative comments. The was polite, dishes came fast. All was very tasty and I met the owner and her husband. Very normal people. We will come back. We had lunch at the restaurant in middle of July 2025. While the food was nice the was unpleasant. There was no special reason, but the waiter Txxe went out of his way to be unfriendly. He was friendly with other customers, so what he found distasteful in serving us was unknown. Perhaps that some of us were local by appearance, though language was not a problem. the food and location are nice and the other waiter that was working seemed quite pleasant. Vuglec breg offers a truly delightful atmosphere — the ambiance is exceptional, with thoughtful design and a relaxed, elegant vibe. The wine selection was impressive, and the glass I had was beautifully balanced and well-paired with the meal. was attentive and professional, adding to the overall positive experience. However, the traditional Zagorje specialty, mlinci, was unfortunately overcooked and too soft, losing its typical texture. The roasted paska (lamb) was also a bit too dry for my taste. Aside from that, everything else was enjoyable and well-prepared. A lovely place overall, with just a couple of culinary tweaks needed to match the otherwise high standard. The best "Bučnica" I've ever tased!! The only thing that could match to it was the service! We were served by the guy named Ivan (amazing guy) he recommended "Bučnica" to us and we were definitely not dissapointed! IVAN KNOWS THE GOOD STUFF! P.s. "Štrukli" are pretty good as well!
