Dismal little park. No restrooms. Very unsafe, no police presence or enforcement rangers. People in fire lanes, and no one issues tickets or tows cars. About half the cars in lot are unregistered, either expired tags or no plates, or illegally registered out of state. Teens race up and down the road on unlicensed offload vehicles with no emissions or mufflers, no helmets. Just racing back and forth with no purpose other than to disturb the peace. Lots of trash down by the river. The people that come here have little concern for anything except the amount of beer and mountain dew they can get down their gullet. Lots of thumping gang music and Mariachi music. And it's clear that the county doesn't clean up here. Its fairly clean and has a big parking lot. A toy structure for 5 to 9 year old and swings. A Small sandy beach and the rest is typical rocky riverside, steep banks that make it near impossible to get down to the ruver. Although, there is a bridge with a rope tied to steel bridge to swing out over the water. The restrooms are portapotties. They are over used A LOT and are gross. They are maintained regularly as well so its not their fault. No access to drinking or electricity. Not really that wheelchair friendly either. My kids favorite place to do outdoor swim, love the running river.. You can bring rubber boat here for mini rafting experience 😊😊 and this place is also perfect place to do family picnic. I saw this before the dense fog advisory became so thick that visibility was impacted. You could say it had this cool eery appearance and vibe to it, making it all the more interesting. Regardless, I thought this park; particularly down by the East Fork Lewis River, which is known for its crystal clear water, was just stunning! You could see the vibrant colors of the even with the fog. This is a well maintained park, but then again, I have found that pretty much every in the city of Battle Ground is awesome! There are 2 play structures that I saw, tables throughout, hiking trails, open grass fields, and even a boat launch on the south of Daybreak bridge, so it is perfect for all ages of nature lovers! I know there was so much more to see, but as the fog became more dense, visibility started to dwindle away, so I will definitely have to come back when it is more clear, and not so cold. I definitely recommend checking this out for yourself. You will not be disappointed! 👍🏼 First time being there. It was peaceful, relaxing and beautiful. Love the outdoors and natures. The sound of the going over was so peaceful. Plenty of diff to look at too. There was no one there when we went. Great place to fish, hiking, rock hounding , picnics.river is high during Winter. Extreme caution advised !!! Keep young children away from during winter runoffs !!! I enjoy the river, however the swimming area is pretty dirty - due to high temps and low water. Plus just chunks of concrete in makes it a bit trashy on the Northern most of park. It's not easy so sit on all those so id bring a chair or padding. Shade is a bit away from water- if ur looking for shade. The playground is fun for kids. It gas a small grass-ey area to play in & a few tables. Bathrooms were closed 8/2025-9/2025, but Porta-a-Potty was open. Pretty unclean, though it could have been the result of just a day or two... You never know how many ppl have been there each day. No hand sanitizer available. First thing to know: there are TWO Daybreak Parks. The EAST of the street is Daybreak which is a trail. The WEST of the street is Daybreak Boat Launch. A few years ago the came up very high and washed out part of thde on the East (Daybreak Park). Some brave souls came along since then and forded their own rough around the broken paved path, so know that. The WEST aka the Boat Launch is the place I frequent. It has a large parking area, and an open easy that a lot of folks walk their dogs or babies in strollers heads off from there. There's also a boat launch which is more or less effective depending on flow and time of year. Lots of folks float the in a riverboat, some fish here, and some come and sit on one of the lunch benches and watch the river. Traffic goes by overhead, as the street you turn off of becomes an overpass bridge. If you do come here by the river, be careful for uneven ground, wet slippery rocks, and be on the lookout for stray fishing hooks. Overall, I love this place. I do love this park. At times overly busy during summer months. My dog and I still enjoy it every time. There was a bit of a trashy fight happening one time but only drunken yelling, posturing, and cursing, no fisty cuffs thankfully! Love this place! Family friendly and pet friendly! High levels years ago damaged the east - trail, but intrepid folks carved out rugged paths. I frequent the west - park. It has a large parking lot and an easy popular for dog - and stroller - pushing. The boat - launch area's effectiveness varies with flow and season. People float, fish, or just relax on lunch benches here. Watch for uneven ground and slippery near the river. This is great for fishing, hiking, and picnicking. Winter brings high levels, so caution is key. I visited before a thick fog set in; the had a cool, eerie vibe. The East Fork Lewis here is renowned for clear water, and even in fog, the rocks' colors shine. It's well - maintained, like most parks in Battle Ground. There are playgrounds, tables, hiking trails, and open spaces. The south of the Daybreak Bridge has a boat - launch spot too. I'll return when it's sunnier.
