Nice historical building. Nice staff. Very bad seats. Very small and cramped auditorium. But very nice screen in the back. It is a beautiful space and the staff are very friendly. I have been here for different kinds of events and they all have been so enjoyable. It is obvious that a lot of work and love goes into the venue. My most recent visit was for Culture Night 2024 where we had the absolute pleasure of being soulfully nourished by Tibetian Monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. In part the venue was way too small for the might of the dungchen and that sound vibrates at a level that some people might not be open to, however the whole experience was perfect nonetheless. My sister in law and I came away feeling all sorts of zen. I had the BEST sleep. Míle buíochas agus moladh dóibh ✌️💚🌞 Updated review *** I am a participant in the 12 exhibition and wanted to come on to thank Dunamaise for an absolutly epic launch night last night. Everything about the experience was amazing from start to finish. It is an honour to have my chair and portrait showcased in the venue and it was even more honourable to be a guest speaker at last night's launch. Speaking in the auditorium was nerve wrecking yet an amazing opportunity. I felt held and supported and thanks to Michelle for her encouragement and impressive direction. I'm made up for Dave and Ciara that the night was a shining success, they both deserve it and Dunamaise have been absolutely brilliant throughout the whole process thus far. Sending you all much love and light 💚🌞 Located just off main Street Portlaoise, with lots going on in the building, this is a really lovely designed and well maintained building. There is something for everyone here. I have been going to this arts centre for years with my son and to get a bite to eat in Cafe Latte and to watch a movie in the theater, attend event's and to use the computer provided here for internet use and check out the great art exhibitions which take place throughout the year with new ones launching every month or two. Dunamaise Arts Centre is my favourite building in the Town of Portlaoise. Well worth a visit, and make sure to view all the areas which have different schedules for events all throughout the year. This is a cozy little hub.. The theatre seating is beautifully elevated so the stage is visible all the way to the back of the auditorium. The staff are lovely. Cute bar upstairs. You can order drinks in advance of show breaks. Parking lot right beside the theatre. Have a lovely time there Attended a charity art auction in Feb 17 and the venue was so well suited to this. We went to see the Pat Shortt show and were very disappointed with the amount of swearing, he used the 'f' word at least 5 times in every sentence. No need for that. A lot of his material was re-hashed, used before. The venue was excellent, very comfortable seating and friendly staff. The new cafe is definitely worth a visit. Hey guys! Just came back from a free event. It was a lego art gallery. The lego art is OK. But what was waiting for us at the entrance, that was crazy! I attach a photo hope will appear. I am disturbed seeing these crazy costumes also, not only the kids. I saw them as we entered the place and I told my kids to turn away. Of course they looked at them and were very scared. We run upstairs to see the lego gallery. It was nice. We decided to live because we didn't feel comfortable to stay. There was a picture gallery also. Me and my kids said that even those faces on the pictures were scary. Right now we are reading the Bible what God is telling us about the beasts in the book of Revalation. As we see these today we see how people are far from God. The God of the Bible. We need to pray for the people to find Christ in their life. If you live with the Holy Spirit you don't have peace when you see all these craziness.
