The rope bridge is particularly good, make sure you enter from the correct end! Reasonably priced refreshments as well are a bonus. There are dragonflies a plenty and the peacock wandering around majestically. The price is a little steep but still not too bad, the pathways could be signposted a little better or with a recommendation for how you can make a route of all the pathways in one go. Dogs are welcome if kept on leads and you can get food and drink in the Tea Room. Be careful on the road in the way out, there’s quite a few potholes! I went there today. With rose coloured glasses. And I was going too turn back if the entrance feels was extortionate. It was £7.50. So I entered hoping too see the two old spinster quaint little tea room which they ran. The national trust has taken it over and it's become a centre parc ,for people and their pooches. No real quaint charm. Just a pleasant walk. We recently visited Blue and overall, it was a outing. The itself is beautiful, with picturesque views and peaceful surroundings that make for a very pleasant stroll. The tea have been done very well — clean, charming, and a spot to relax. There are also plenty of places to sit and enjoy a picnic, which is a real plus. The site is suitable for all ages, and children in particular will love the various opportunities to explore along the way. There are some facts dotted around the route, adding a little educational fun to the adventure. That said, the full can be completed quite quickly — around 10 minutes on the short route or about 30 minutes if you take the long path — which felt a little underwhelming as adults. Naturally, if you're with children, the becomes more engaging and takes longer as they stop to explore and play. While we understand that the site is somewhat limited due to its geography, we did feel that the admission price was a little steep given the relatively short walking time. Still, it's a very well-kept facility and a genuinely spot to visit. In summary: a lovely, family-friendly place with stunning views and well-maintained paths, ideal for a light stroll or a picnic. Just be aware that it’s a shorter than you might expect, especially if visiting without children. What a fantastic place. Plenty to do for you to spend the whole day here. (January & Feb) The idea of going to look at a "blue pool" out in the countryside doesn't inspire, but you really ought to go. There are a myriad of walking trails, an adventure park for youngsters, a rope bridge that will scare most visitors plus the usual tea and gift shop. Large free car park and just under a tenner to enter, use the free map to get full enjoyment of your as you around the pool/lake. Went here due to the website making it sound pretty cool. It's really not. It's run down to the ground and needs someone to come in and give it some love. The cafe was very dirty and not pleasant at all. The is a lot smaller than it looks. They had an evening light show, which is poorly set up and ruins the lake during the day. It's just honestly incredibly disappointing. Wouldn't recommend at all. We stopped off here for a relaxing break after a around the Blue on a cold, windy and rainy day. The tea are beautifully laid out and the cakes and warm drinks were as delicious as they were welcome. This is the first place I have come across which gives you two scones with the cream teas!! Other food was a slice of apple cake which was very sweet, applely and moist. The staff are pleasant and helpful, I certainly recommend the tea for a rest after fun at the Blue Pool. This is such a place, the it self is bumpy in places but the main was OK for my mum who uses a stick, and i have seen pushchairs there before, it's only about 2 miles at a guess but it does have little paths off to explore to make it as long as you want, the lake is stunning all year round. The staff are all the and what really sets this place apart from others Took the two Granddaughters here today for the Halloween Trail and Pumpkin Carving. We all had a fabulous looking for all the Ghosts and Ghouls that are dotted along the trail. We then sat and carved out two scary Pumpkin Heads to take home for the doorstep before having a delicious lunch in the Art Deco Tearooms. Stunning landscape, pool, peaceful woodlands with masses of heather to wander through en route to the viewpoint via steps, but if you can't manage those, (I didn't try any more!) there is a circular accessible easy that does not detract from the wildness and scenery of the forest. I saw a deer just meandering above us through the bracken - magic - and a little herd over the fence near the car park. Would recommend the Blue for all ages. I love this place and first visited in the early 70’s before it closed for a while. First for my husband though. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great walks all over the area and it’s so very pretty. We stopped in the tea room for scones and they had a gluten free option which was very welcome and very delicious. It’s easy to spend a good few hours there. My hubby took me today for my birthday treat what a place but I did find a few anoing parts first one is it had a cafe it's a nature reserve so why do you think i know let's blast music out of a speaker outside when all I wanted to do was listen to the birds and nature very confused and so sad to see you couldn't be bothered to take down all the Christmas bit's and very very sad to see tacky fairies, gnome and other bit's put onto trees and could damage them .The little fairy doors at the bottom of the trees, the animals wooden ornament and sculpture where . The blue was so amazing. A magical family day at Blue — spooky trails, autumn colours, and the UK’s longest rope bridge! This place never fails to amaze us and we come quite regularly. Already excited for our next and for Illuminate next year. We visited The Blue whilst on holiday in Devon, and looking for a for the pup. This is such an incredible place and well worth the visit! We followed the fairy and gnome trail round and vered off onto some of the other little paths too, and there's so much to explore. The whole area is well maintained and kept and we couldn't fault our experience. The rope bridge was a firm favourite! We also had coffee in the tea (the cakes looked incredible too!) and also ice cream which was good, and even had doggy ice cream. Would highly recommend as a half day/full day out for all the family! We visited at Halloween, and it was an incredible experience in a stunning location. Last night, we attended the lights event, which was absolutely breathtaking. The atmosphere felt magical, with beautifully arranged lights and sounds that made a huge difference . We ended the evening roasting marshmallows by the fire and taking a delightful stroll through the gift shop. I do recommend this extraordinary place at any of the year, it's truly worth a visit!
