We have popped in twice. First visit: friendly service, waiter explained all (Albanian Menu only). Very good food and even shish kebabs prepared specially for two kids (fussy eaters). Second visit: half of the stuff from Menu not available and we have left. A bit disappointing. We were 2 families and slept for a night. Good place; great view - just by the river, the bridge was really nice too. Delicious bio food, even though the breakfast was limited in the portion size and variety. Worth-the-price rooms. We expected better customer service. Playground for kids was nice and plenty of space. The place is located in a very beautiful surrounding just by the side of the river and it has a great potential, but it’s a pitty that our experience was dissapointing. We were there only for lunch, a large group with little kids. First, they refused to make some pasta for the kids although it was part of the menu, only after we were about to leave they “changed their mind”. We mostly ordered fish (trout) which is supposed to be traditional local food. Almost every piece came burned. One of us received a tiny portion and only after we complained they brought another one. The only good thing was the salad. For the price we paid and the quality of the food (and service) we got, we do not suggest it Relax Hotel is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. It is set on the beautiful blue river, overlooked by the mountains. The rooms are impeccably clean, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are modern and spacious. The restaurant offers incredible traditional Albanian food, some of the best I have had in Albania. The host didn’t speak much English but he was nonetheless super helpful and friendly including helping us arrange transportation to the beginning of the hike in Valbone. What a fantastic stay and lovely hosts. The room was modern and clean. Great bed. Super comfy. The food was great. Massive portions too to set you up for a day of hiking! Couldn’t ask for more! Stay here Service was the worste. Uncleaned. Staff was rude. Spoke with the owner was worste than them . On every continent there are a few places that stand head and shoulders above the rest. That combination of stunning settings, tasteful facilities, and gracious staff. This is one of those places. The owner truly enjoys making everything special, and he has found kind staff, of which there are a lot, bustling around tending to the gardens, cleaning, or managing the various outdoor spaces. The rooms are simple but cute, made of natural stone and wood, with wrap around balconies that look out on the river and the spectacular mountains. All the shots I included are from the property or across one of the two bridges that lead from the hotel grounds out into a meadow. There's an adorable demonstration garden and traditionally crafted woodwork, and a miniature working water mill and grindstone!
