Great , free car park, nice walk , during spring great blooming flowers and trees. Nice coffee shop, you can grab a bite or have a drink. Events organised during the year, concerts and open air cinema. It's a lovely spot away from the main roads. Beautifully planted rose garden and maintained lawns. Bird avery Fish pond Band stand. Swindon Bowl for events. A nice escape. Opposite Quarry road Tennis Courts. Parking for free 2 hours only. From the end of November through to Christmas, the gardens have an illuminated Enchanted Forest trail. I was a bit sceptical at first when my wife suggested we go, but I needn't have been. Whether you're young or old you will enjoy this more than you think. You can buy tickets (for a particular time slot) in advance online and for an adult it's £15. Was it worth £15, absolutely. They have done a great job with the lighting effects. There is food and drink available and the whole atmosphere is, well, enchanting! It's so nice to see something done so well. The pictures don't do it justice. Lovely with plenty to see and do while having a relaxing wander. And excellent to find not just a cafe but toilets too, which are often forgotten in planning these days but are very important for making open spaces accessible to everyone. Lovely park. Lots of seating spaces and beautiful flower garden A frequently visited place , very calm , feels connected with nature , especially if sat near the pond with eyes closed. You'll hear the scintillating sound of nature, flowing water, birds chirping, gentle breeze rustling the leaves ..... it's a wonderful experience. Especially during the cherry Blossom, there's no other place so eye catching and peaceful. This was a huge surprise during our visit to Swindon. I had visited Swindon several times over the last five decades, but this is a hidden jewel of lushness. Quiet walking paths, huge trees, and beautiful flowers, made even more enjoyable by the discovery of a wonderful little cafe in the park. Serving excellent tea, coffee, and sausage baps, the staff put an extra big smile on our faces. These Texans love The Town Gardens. Very beautiful, peaceful environment with lovely rose garden, fish pond and aviary. Delicious birthday BLT lunch and slice of cake at The Bamdstand Cafe 😋 Definitely worth the time to have a walk around these gardens if you are in Swindon and wanting to escape. Rose garden , band stand coffee shop, children area with aviary. Kept clean. Unsure on toilets. The gardens are peaceful and well looked after. One thing SBC spends money on that is worth it... I love the Old Town Gardens itself. Been many times......with my mum as a child, visited with my two sons when they were little, and not so little. Taken walks with a friend, and also on my own. It's a beautiful place and not far to get to. The gardeners do a great job, and the aviary has recently been refurbished. It's just a shame about the cafe! Although the staff were pleasant and friendly, over the years I've seen it go from ceramic plates (and cups and saucers) to polystyrene containers, then polystyrene plates, to a bit of foil wrapping and cheap takeaway cups. The bacon in the bacon roll wasn't great either. Like I said, it's such a shame that standards have dropped, because I would of really wanted to give five stars!
