Having stayed the night at this tavern, we found that the place has character, due to it's history (it seems the building dates back to the early 20th century, or perhaps even older) and has a country, welcoming feel. The staff were informal, but friendly and approachable, also the check in/out process was effortless. We didn't manage to have dinner here, but would have had confidence in doing so; instead we enjoyed a few drinks in the bar area. Our room was small and although we didn't have our private toilet, we had our own shower and sink in our room. The was disappointing as all there was to eat was bread, croissants, a small portion of crushed fruit and some cereal; we were expecting sausages, bacon, eggs, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, etc. All in all it wasn't a bad stay, especially given the very reasonable rate we paid. We went in a group here for Boxing day. Not a great success even though it is a lovely quirky place. The staff were ill informed about the food they were serving. The service was poor & they were not particularly helpful. Food was not great some food overcooked & some undercooked. Gin served with wrong botanicals also. Just lacking vital elements of an enjoyable day. Small room, too small for the price of 100 euro, no until nine o clock, noone there. We could not get into the hotel late in the evenibg, we thought the keys were wrong, but we found later another side door for those keys. We should have been told this. Same wirh breakfast. Noone told us, up to nine. Still, when the people came, there waz a nice conversation and a good breakfast. Nice location too. Great place for the area. It servss its purpose as a cozy little country restaurant in the Dutch countryside. Portions were big and the staff was really friendly. The food could be been a bit more seasoned but the Dutch aren't really known for their spicy food. Love this place! One of the most nicely situated eateries right next to the stream/River. Some of the best food I have ever had and in great surroundings. It was nice having something to eat and then moving outside with a coffee, to watch the world go by. It's that good that we are leaving a day early on a trip just so that we can eat and stay here. The service was very good, the hotel room was neat and clean, the beds were amazing, very soft and the pillows as well, I've slept great. The bathroom was good too, it appeared very fancy. We only had breakfast, which was a nice buffet. The location was beautiful, but the bus stop was quite far away.
