This has great historical significance and was not at all crowded on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in June. There are several restaurants and a Gelato shop. The tour is only 4 euros and worth the price with interactive displays. The views of Tuscan countryside are amazing from the walls. Walk up through the village of Kari, buy local cheese and salami, stop off for a cherry brandy or a cappuccino and then mount the ramparts of Castello del Vicari to soak in the views and ambience of Tuscany. Amazing town with a fabulous pasta making experience. This is by far one of the best tourist experiences I’ve had the pleasure of attending with my young family. The drive to the village is challenging with bends, chicanes and steep narrow passes. Beware as you drive the natural beauty of the landscape, seriously idillic property and vantage points are distracting! It’s best to wait for this on the top of the hill. Take a deep breath! It gives you an outrageous panoramic view of Tuscan green and terracotta roofs. The village below is exceptionally well kept with quality deli’s and bars. Perfect and relaxed. You must visit the historic pasta factory check for timings and what kind of pasta they are making! #pasta #visititaly #touristintuscany We got to this charming town and found ourselves in medieval festival with local food and wine. Stunning medieval fortified town very well preserved/restored. Fantastic views/photo opportunities from the open to public ramparts. Lovely gelato see picture of sign. Martelli pasta factory in middle of town gives factory tour if you email Luca in advance. I highly recommend spending half a day here. Tucked away gem with a few but good bars and cafes. The pizza factory shop was lovely. was closed unfortunately but shall come back. 34degree heat. A big set of stairs to the and no shade so no go for this little chicken. The was interesting but nothing special, while the view was magnificent. The view alone made the visit worthwhile. The township of Lari is already quite lovely, but being in the hill provides you with an amazing in all directions. If the weather is good, it's a must see! The Museum itself is more in the weaker end, informative texts and videos are available in either English or Italian, but the amount of exhibits is very limited. As of September 2024 the entry fee for the museum is 4 €, just going on to the hill and enjoying the view ist free. So nice and cozy castle. Love to have a walk around. A peace of tranquility and silence. They always do cherry blossom and cherry degustation festivals. We love to come here.
