Our drivers/guides, Gerry and Robbie, were so knowledgeable and entertaining. I had to ask Robbie if he was a teacher because he knew the entire timeline of Ireland’s history. (Lots of “bits and bobs” about Ireland as we traveled.) He kept us all on schedule and no one got lost! Secondly, I felt we definitely saw the “nooks and crannies” of Ireland, because of the many places we stopped at for breaks as well as planned tours. Everything was scenic and lovely. I have to say that in 20 years of traveling, this was the best travel and best food of any we have ever been on (including more expensive European tours). Being in a small coach gave us easier access to many sites. Our driver/guide Martin was amazing and an endless source of knowledge and information. He was very proactive with our itinerary and actually rearranged our Blarney Castle to the afternoon, after he found out a cruise ship group would be there the morning that we were scheduled. Instead, he arranged an optional that morning to the charming harbor town of Cobh that was delightful. The was a perfect mix of jaw dropping scenery, geologic and human history, and cultural highlights. We would have never imagined that we would human from 5000 years ago! Everything was better than we expected, with cozy but roomy accommodations, and outstanding food. We enjoyed fresh fish every day, and each location had it's own version of Fish Chowder and brown bread which immediately became our favorite lunch! Our travel advisor Sandra Feery, worked tirelessly with me to customize many aspects of our trip- tweaking the itinerary here and there, to ensure we were able to include everything on our Wish List. My husband and I are saying how will we ever travel again because no will surpass this one! The value for the money and the travel of this is unsurpassed. He handled those very narrow roads with skill and care. And he found me a spot to get a Diet Coke every morning (super important!) Our evening accommodations were absolutely lovely, and chosen with care. However, there was no problem during planning if I found a spot I wanted to stay in - like a CASTLE!
