The issues in Aura tullamore are more about the maintenance in the gym locker rooms (male and female). The showers have chipped tiles, the lockers don't have any straps on any of the keys, and I can't even begin to describe the toilet in the changing area. I've seen cleaner toilets at music festivals. They seem to be cleaned maybe once every day and there is hardly ever toilet paper. The drains always smell quite badly, the tiles are covered in snot, chewing gum, and are cleaned very infrequently (i believe based on condition). If you compare this to other in the court hotel, or snap fitness they are far worse in terms of the changing they have and also the cleanliness standards. They also recently changed policy and my teenage son can't go post 6.30 which has limited his ability to train (he is a competitive swimmer and used to train evenings at the gym) All in all since i rejoined this (i was a member a long ago) I'm far more inclined to go back to the court hotel or snap fitness due to everything described. Just to reiterate, the are great. This isn't a issue, it's a and hygiene issue. Very professional helpful staff. Unfortunately the hygiene and in gym are horrendous for the price of membership. There’s 1 shower available and doors and windows are all closed in gym madness when busy why not open up some ventilation. Some equipment is also not up standard not good enough for price of membership. Gym was very small , barely like 3 or 4 machines. The gym showers were always so disgusting. The worst part about it was their 6 month minimum contract. It was ridiculous especially if you were only signing up in the summer DISGUSTING AND UNCLEAN is the only way to describe it. Just read all other reviews. Same dirt and dust in the same places for over a year, lots of broken or don't work (e.g. only 1 shower working in mens changing rooms for over a month). Any other company would have sacked the management. Surprised anyone with any pride would want to work in such a badly run place. are lovely. Good gym equipment in but the bathrooms, showers and sauna need to be professionally cleaned or even better renovated! No working showers the past few days as they are upgrading the water heaters. Could be really good gym, but nobody is taken care about the cleaning, managers are sleeping ... The bathroom is dirty everywhere, unprofessional.... Good place, wrong management! I am a 17 old,working part time,going to school etc.I have been in this fitness centre for a long period of time.Rules of the under 18s have not been seen anywhere as much recently.I pay for a membership that doesn’t allow me to access to the fitness suite after working or educational studies.I was not permitted to enter in recently.For the price I pay to not enter the gym is ridiculous.The changing rooms of the gym is absolutely atrocious as seen in the other reviews.I have been a loyal member.if needed to go to a gym in TULLAMORE DONT GO TO AURA I am a 17 old working a job and unable to go gym before half 6. The under 18 rule is ridiculous as people who go school or have jobs will have no to get ready or have any gym time. I have been a member for over a and have always respected the gym. In the recent weeks the sign for the half 6 rule have been removed and replaced with a under 16 olds can't be using the free weight which is misleading. I pay for a membership at aura not a curfew. If you want to go to a good gym don't go to aura as they don't respect people who work or people who pay. Poor facilities, nice but the gym itself is poor quality with broken machines half the I would like to say that this is a genuine nice place to visit, the girls at reception are lovely especially Ella. The gym can be quite dirty at times but it’s very hard to keep clean unless there is someone there constantly hovering which is hard due to so many people in the gym.. The pool is lovely and warm and all swim teachers are very good there is one Asian woman who is very rude but other then that all teachers and lifeguards are friendly. I went to the gym to sign up for membership and talked to a lovely girl Tara who was so helpful and explained the steps through the gym program etc. The changing rooms need an upgrade I agree but are lovely and gym is wonderful.
