Lovely traditional pub...really busy and was only opened an hour so sign. Guiness was spot on...soup and chowder starters were good. Sunday roasts had loads of beef. The vegetables served with it were a bit bland. were exceptional 👌 Lovely spaniel Poppy came up to say hello...and possibly beg for beef! Really nice place with excellent food. This place was recommend to us from a friend who has a terrible track record of recommending ordinary places but he got it right about Weirs. Even a stopped clock..... comes to mind. Yes- the menu was varied and the food was delicious. I had hake with chorizo and it was excellent. For dessert we shared a bread and butter pudding and it's probably the best I've ever had. The gentleman who served us was warm, welcoming and friendly. Guinness was also very good. Would highly recommend. This is the best in Ireland! Phenomenal food, ambience, and very personal. Owner greets you personally, which is not a very common experience. The cherry on the top was a beautiful dog that comes and greets you as well and makes your stay very warm, welcomed, and entertained. Delicious, and the are so friendly! We had onion rings, garlic bread, chicken wings, burgers and fish and chips. Simply hearty. For dessert, cheesecake and chocolate cake. Fantastic and delicious. The portions were a little large for Swiss stomachs 🤣... but that's more down to our appetites. We'll be back. Thank you. We only heard of Weir’s recently, despite living only 20 minutes away for two years. We had been warned that sometimes service can be a little slow, although our could not have been more efficient- we couldn’t have asked for better service throughout the meal. The atmosphere was very nice. The food was great- I had wings (very good), a steak (great, perfectly cooked), and the sticky toffee pudding. Our table also had the bread and butter pudding. The desserts were the star for us. Exceptional. I’m not sure if they make them on site, but if they do then massive credit to the chef. Will be back again, and often We had such a at this restaurant that we ended up going back for a second night! The food was delicious! On our first visit, we arrived just before last orders on a Friday evening and were so grateful that the host, Pat, welcomed us warmly and made sure we got a table. We were starving, and being accommodated so kindly made all the difference. The service was excellent both nights, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Pat was genuinely and made us feel right at home. I’d highly recommend this place and will definitely return next time we’re in the area. Very satisfying. Charming host with a fun character. Though we were there at a quiet time all were very attentive. Nice casual atmosphere with really good food. Baby bowl was free which was a very nice touch. Our toddler in potty training frequently used the perfectly clean restrooms too We stayed in the accomodation next door (also a wonderful, wonderful experience) so were able dine here a few times. The food is fantastic - my personal favourites were the hake (ordered twice, would again), the fried brie and Una’s brown bread (legendary). Pat and Una are lovely people and Poppy the Spaniel is a joy. They do great, welcoming music sessions in the evening. We would have come back just for the food but everything else makes it quite a special experience! My family and I went here for my birthday meal. The were lovely and very accommodating to our dietary requirements. The service was very quick but still had customer service along with it. We all ordered different food and were in agreement that our food was lovely. flavour and good portion sizing. The owner came over to talk with us and we briefly stated it was my birthday in a passing comment during conversation which they had taken more notice of then we realised as the came over with a surprise birthday dessert with happy birthday written on the plate which to us made a big impression of how much they care for their customers and truly do listen to what we say. Overall this was an amazing and we will be back again. place to have a shindig. We recently hosted a party for a special occasion. From the get go it was a fantastic evening. We had a sit down meal for sixty people, food was delicious, served promptly by professional staff. The restaurant looked amazing, white tablecloths, candles and wild flowers. We finished off the evening bopping to a local band and fun was had by all. Pat, Una and all the pulled out all the stops to provide a very memorable night. We ordered our food not long after we sat down at our table and within 5 minutes our food arrived. My mum and I both got the signature chicken dish and my dad had the salmon dinner on special. The food was so fresh and tasty. I then ordered apple crumble for desert and it was beautiful. The Restaurant is lovely, it's very unique with a country style finish and the tables are nicely spread out so nobody is on top of others and listening to private conversations. The sheltered Beer Garden/outdoor dining area is lovely as well, it's small and cosy. Lovely to be out there on a sunny day. It was our first time experiencing this restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll definitely make it a regular thing.
