We had booked a cottage, and our stay experience was pleasant. There is a at a distance of 200mt, and this was the most convenient part. Before I forget, I would like to suggest that this is a location suitable only for families with kids. Couples, singles, and other folks might find it noisy, crowded, overpriced, and inconvenient. Some dampeners: 1. Given the area of the property, they have squeezed in a lot of rental spaces - cottages of various types, tents, caravan and house van spots. While we didn't face much inconvenience as summer vacations are yet to begin, the facilities can get quickly overwhelmed. 2. The barrier/vägbom closes sharp 2200, and opens only at 0900 next day. This wasn't communicated even when we called in advance to notify our late arrival, also not on the second day either(the receptionist changed our RFID cards, and affirmed that the barrier can be opened 24/7). 3. The isn't a private property of the site owners. There were quite a number of visitors (not guests but ones driving there only for picnic, and swimming). The grill place we wished to utilize was always occupied for 2 days by visitors. 4. While I can imagine the maintenance costs, I found it a bit disappointing that none of the facilities (padel, shuffle board, etc.) was complimentary, also were a bit expensive given the size, and location of the property. Overall, it is a pleasant destination but probably, more competitive ones exist, especially in terms of space, and price. We stopped by spontaneously and got a cottage for two nights for the price of one. This was a really offer. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean. The staff really friendly and helpful. The prices in the store were a little bit higher than in the next supermarket, but that's totally OK, if you just need some small things that you forgot to buy. For people without children just a little bit too loud at the beach. For a short stay without a caravan totally ok Ursand Resort & is perfectly located by the Vänern lake, about 3 km north of Vänersborg. There are bathing, fishing and exercising facilities. 🌞🌳Beautifully located by the shores of Lake Vänern, it’s incredibly easy to reach thanks to road connections. The fresh air and changing forest landscapes around make the atmosphere unique and relaxing. There’s plenty of parking space, and the facilities and services offered are excellent: from modern and clean sanitary buildings to well-stocked shops and cozy cafés. The campsite offers a wide range of pitches for campers and caravans in different spots, whether you prefer shade under the trees or being closer to the beach. Children absolutely love it here with so many creative playgrounds and fun areas specially designed for them. It’s clear that the team behind Ursand constantly invests in new ideas and improvements, making the place even more welcoming every season🍀🍃🪷 We were satisfied with the big warm pool. The on the lake was nice too but it was too cold to swim. The lunch buffet at the restaurant was nice but it was too expensive for a two year old child. Nice view from the restaurant though. The bathrooms in the service house 4 need to be cleaned more often. There was dust over the sink and toilet. The hole where people throw waste water is in the middle of the road where children bicycle back and forth. I saw a child fell onto the hole from his bike. It was gross. I felt sorry for the child. Nice playgrounds for children to play. God service, nice for family, nice pool & lovely Beach. And a very pizza resturant Def wil be back🥰 We rented a cabin, it was clean and had all the amenities we expected. *But* a big reason for booking was a kid club, but in the end they cancelled most of the activities with or without notice, and all our child got to do was one mini golf tournament. Also, the is rather expensive, and all the activities (including pool or sauna) cost extra money. Never have I ever had such trouble getting a hotdog. A 70+ minute adventure. The whole place was very disorganized and crowded. Beutiful location but it's charm is lost by just how many people are crammed in here. The service was friendly and good, the service houses and showers are clean and well maintained. But the campsite is huge and quite packed with caravans and campervans, not a quiet place to relax. The public leads to many day guests who are passing through the campsite. Unfortunately there are too many groups who litter the and the pathways. The kids just drop the empty chips bags and the parents don't care; I've seen too much littering in just two days. Of course the campsite is not responsible for bad behaviour of the non-camping guests, but it sadly reduces the comfort on this campsite. Wasps! I’ve never seen so many! We have just checked out a day earlier than our planned 10-nights July holiday with two small kids. Ursand is super kid friendly and our experience was overall very good: we rented the cabin #43. The was very busy but well organized, clean and well staffed. Said that, we won’t be returning and do not recommend the if you have small kids or issues with insects. The grounds: beach, swimming pool, kids playgrounds, (everywhere) was packed with a ridiculous amount of wasps. Our 3 year old boy got stung at the on day 2 and this has kind of ruined the holiday for him. After the incident, he was constantly running away and screaming about wasps being around. It wasn’t fun.
