Came here coz the review score of 4.7, may be my expectations were too high. For me it was a pretty disappointing experience. 🍴Here is not Bistro. Food is limited choices. Fish and beef in the burger seem like the frozen meat from the supermarket and just reheat. Some staffs were ignorant and inattentive. We stayed for a week in Tromso, this was the best food we had offering a range of Norwegian and more fast food style. We tried the meat balls, baked cod and Molje; all were delicious. The menu on the wall is in Norwegian but they have a printed English version as well. Staff were really helpful. With the reasonable priced meal you also get a hot drink and an ice lolly desert! Tasty food, big portions and modern looking place. Friendly service, no english menus. Foods roughly 150-250 or so. We were looking for an authentic, well rated spot for lunch. The menu had a moderate variety of food like fish (cod,salmon) prepared with a Norwegian flair. I had swedish meatballs with mushy peas, boiled potatoes, gravy and purred lingenberry. My husband had a perfectly cooked reindeer burger. Food was outstanding and hit just the spot. After lunch they offered a complimentary ice cream bar! food and, service! The tea and coffee were complimentary from the restaurant too. We ordered the meat and fish, and they tasted fantastic! Highly recommended! To start off we went here because of the reviews. The is but everything else is rather disappointing. The Meatballs and Cod is not served after 5pm(?). And all the other dishes look & taste like store bought. I would say this is far from being the best restaurant in Tromsø. Prices are moderate but that’s about it. It offers free Coffee and Tea so that’s a plus. But if you are looking for quality food and something unique maybe not this spot. Came here for some classic Norwegian food and we were very happy with our decision! The cod and bacon was very but the Christmas platter was delicious. The pork and the lamb were excellent. Highly recommend for real regular-people Norwegian food. Very tasty food, fast and polite staff, nice atmosphere. I recommend it for any occasion. Amazing place with food options. The dishes were really delicious (traditional style cooked) with choices. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for the amazing food, the staff was just great. They were kind, helpful and smiling all along. And cherry on top they give free ice creams for dessert which were also ;) highly recommended if you are visiting Tromsø, 5 stars wholeheartedly! Sigrid is extremely friendly and provides recommendations on all things Tromso. Appreciate the as well as friend. Please order the chicken nugget and taco pizza!!! P.S - Sigrid, we managed to catch the northern lights - thank you for praying for us! It is called "bistro" but it is a decent restaurant with very food and and really affordable prices. On top of that they give free tea and coffee. Perfect place for ones who want to get food in a price and have it in a nice atmosphere. Amazing place! So glad we found this :) Norwegian comfort food for a cold day! All the staff were lovely, and tea/coffee is included with the food. Can’t wait to come back We visited the bistro yesterday and it was really great! The food was delicious, the portions were large, and the prices are surprisingly low for Norway. We didn’t have to wait long, and the place is modern and beautifully designed, cozy and full of nice details. You shouldn’t compare it to a restaurant, but that’s exactly what makes it special. The staff was super friendly and even gave us several tips and places to see the Northern Lights. Absolutely recommendable! Made the 30 min walk during a snow storm and let me tell you, definitely worth it. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to try their “traditional” food but nevertheless I ordered the steak and fries and was super delicious. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and the is what also stands out compared to restaurants in the city. If you’re staying in Tromsø, you HAVE to try this place out. Incredibly kind and accommodating, fantastic service, really relaxed and chill atmosphere, incredible view out of the window towards the mountain, and the food was incredible! The reindeer stew and focaccia with butter was out of this world... And to top it off there was unexpected free ice cream at the end! Self-service drinks are available throughout so you can warm up with tea or coffee while marvelling at the view of the mountain. This is simply an unmissable experience whilst in Tromsø. Excellent food! We had the pizza , burgers and the meat balls. Amazing!
