We agreed to go to pacify my Daughters interest in all things doggy but I was not expecting to become so absorbed in the three floors of St Bernard history and information. Few dog breeds have such an interesting and heroic story. These brave rescue really do deserve to have their very own museum. There is even the opportunity to meet and pet some of the resident dogs(this really made the for my Daughter), these 'lifesavers' really are something special. I can highly recommend a to this very special place. We had a 1yo baby with us visiting the place, lady from behind the counter scolded us and said that we’re not allowed to have a “picnic” inside.... We just tried to feed the 1yo little one next to the family area. Not welcoming at all, highly NOT recommended. Our daughter was so excited to this place, however after leaving we all had a sad and uneasy feeling for the dogs. Loved the place and the work they do with the dogs. Great interaction experience with a dog and her trainer/carer. You can't pet them While it's not the most exciting experience, it was definitely the highlight of my to Martigny. The staff at the front desk were courteous and explained everything that I might need to know to enjoy my visit. All of the are very well cared for, and the handlers are very nice and knowledgeable. There is a cafe at one end of the building. I didn't go myself, but it was bustling with people drinking beer, wine, and coffee while having a snack. Absolutely lost of time and money, with the only exception if you have never seen a St Bernard dog. We took the version with interact with dogs, total disappointment. The workshop is supposed to be for kids 6-12 years old, but it's rather for the age of 2-3 so for older than 3 will be boring or terrible boring. Not to mention only IN FRENCH. So my son was able to touch the dog 4 times in a classroom. Apart of that, the museum on 1th floor has several photos style St Bernard plus priests. A field outside with pretty small I would say, like a tiny zoo. are on a very small space with veeery limited green area (if so), pooooor ones 😞 a souvenir shop, looks nice, but after the disgust we experienced, we wanted to run away as soon as possible. I think it's for tourists from abroad only, don't go if you live in Switzerland. In any Swiss village on the street you will meet a St Bernard and you will have muuuuuch more interaction with those amazing animals 😊 After phoning in the morning (19th of August), we were reassured that the walk would go ahead despite the rain. We drove form Geneva and the weather cleared up just as we were arriving and Meteo Swiss showed no signs of rain for the afternoon. We were told that the walk was cancelled and that we could contact Barry Fondation for a refund. After calling them, they said we need to contact ticket-corner (via a premium rate number). We have yet to receive our refund and are running out of hope. Don't trust this company.
