Zoo et piscine des Marécottes

Martigny, Switzerland Zoo

Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Depresing place. Standard ZOO advertised as "Animals in their natural environement" place. The apartaments with balcones over the bears enclosure complete this awful inhuman impression. Keep far away ... I had appreciated the natural enclosure and relatively close to city. Pretty crowded during weekends Awesome Alpine Zoo but getting there is tedious.. but overall is nice Amazing place. ZOO with nice animals. with "fresh" clean water. Friendly staff. Relaxing place. Entry is confusing (construction happening), pay inside the restaurant then go back outside to enter. No maps and poor signage, however the zoo is small so its quite easy to navigate. Most of the paths arent paved and it was quite muddy, enclosed shoes recommended. The pizza was absolutely delicious, however the service was very relaxed and some miscommunications occured - the staff were kind and helpful though. Really enjoyed this zoo albiet quaint, value for money (food & entrance!) We had a booking here for one night as we attended a 85th birthday party in the village. We had a time. Busy with renovations but still operational and the Hotel is brand new. Rooms are really super. We had a little bar fridge, our own expresso machine and our patio overlooked the zoo where the bears 🐻 were in full habitat. Breakfast was and the staff were very friendly. The night stay included breakfast and also walking around in the zoo. Next morning after breakfast we could go feed some animals with the staff. Really loved this place. was a bit busy as it’s open to paying customers but the hotel guests can swim till late and also walk in the zoo till late. We slept like babies. Thanks for the hospitality 🇿🇦🇨🇭 The zoo is close to a large parking lot, which is quickly full when the weather is nice, as there is also a ski slope nearby. Students get a discount so don't forget the student card ;) The zoo is built in a circle and it is a very nice walk. I was able to take a lot of pictures and seeing the animals in the mountains was unique. I had seen a wolf, a deer and capricorns for the first time. To see the wolf we had to climb up an elevation, which was really difficult due to the snow. I understand that you want to avoid salt here but you could mount a rope to get up and down safely, this would be really practical. ➰🐺 This zoo is really different, even if you have already been to a conventional zoo, this one is definitely worth a visit! ☺️ Very lovely little Alpine zoo. You can buy a small bag of animal feed so the little ones can feed the goats and deer. All the animals currently and historically found in the Swiss Alps. (Not so good for people with movement difficulties as paths are uneven.) Wirth a visit. Lovely little zoo, the looks amazing. Tried the restaurant. Very good quality, fresh pizza. I had the fish and chips and they were great! Everything great!, just a quite zoo for relaxing. The was absolutely fantastic. For the zoo, the way the bears are kept is unbearable to watch. They are like prisoners walking back and forth in the corner, losing their mind, away from freedom. Zoos shouldn't be allowed to have bears. They are reforming making their area bigger but still, each bear is in its corner looking like having lose their mind and you can see the despear into their eyes. Horrible for the bears. Discovering the Perfect Day Out in Valais!!! My recent visit to Marecottes Zoo left me thoroughly impressed and eager to share my experience. It was an unexpected delight to stumble upon such a gem of a destination for a day out with family and friends. From the moment I stepped foot in the zoo, it was evident that the animals were well taken care of and content in their habitats and being able to feed some of them made the experience even more memorable. As the summer heat approaches there is a huge swimming it’s a fantastic addition to this place allowing visitors to cool off while surrounded by the beauty of Nature. But what truly made our day was the cheerful and casual demeanour of the staff. Their warmth and approachability made me feel right at home, adding to the overall comfort and enjoyment of the visit. It's the kind of place you want to return to again and again—a true go-to destination for a day of fun and relaxation. To my surprise, I learned that a hotel is in the works, I can’t wait to try it out for a longer stay next time. The Marecottes Zoo and its restaurant a place I stumbled upon by chance but I can't wait to return and immerse myself in its charm once again this summer. I highly recommend if you are a nature lover. Dirty and overcrowded pool, disastrous parking - This review is just for the pool. We had visited the once 7 years ago, and while the site is still very unique and beautiful, it is clear that management is a concern. For Swiss standards, the water was not clean; dust and dirt were everywhere in park, litter and cigarette buts as well. Trash bins are overflowing. The was so overcrowded, people were sitting shoulder to shoulder at edge of pool; on the grass, towels were also on top of each other. With the exception of a small shallow area, the is unsafe for children under 4. for jumping, but no rules...it feels like an accident could happen at any moment. Upon arrival, the was so busy, we could have probably just walked in without anyone knowing, very disorganized. Teenagers/20 year olds are running the reception/stands. To control numbers, why don't they mark "affluence" on their website, or make it a timed pass, like at many mineral baths? Cars parked in every direction along side of road, no spaces marked. Overall, a site with lots of potential, but feels like it has become the wild west!
