One of the Best Places To Visits in Põltsamaa linn Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Must visit place in Põltsamaa! Old loss which is currently under reconstruction, but you still can enter it and view. We paid €5 for a family ticket and went to the museum. It was small but nice; they had lots vintage and antique items on display. There was a wine cellar with some outdoor seating. We enjoyed an ice cream here. Also, there was a VERY beautiful handcraft store on the grounds. Worth a short detour from Tallinn to Tartu. After some thought, I decided to buy a ticket and go to the castle ruins. From the outside, there was nothing left there except for the walls, the wind blowing through them, and the going to stool pigeons, so I didn't see the point in going in. Nevertheless, I went to the ticket office and asked the woman to tell me what was interesting there. She turned out to be a resident of this cute little town and was happy to tell me about the museum. I liked her story about the 2 places to visit in the castle - the ruins and the museum, and I bought a ticket only for the ruins. I didn't regret it! Although only the walls remained there, there were photos of what it looked like before and extremely interesting stories were told on these walls! So I advise you to go in! An adequate castle and museum, notably revamped in recent years. The multilayered exhibition within the castle's tower was commendable, providing an insightful journey through various historical strata. The evident pride in local craftsmanship displayed in the meticulous restoration efforts was indeed appreciated. Regrettably, the Rococo hall, which we particularly wished to explore, was not accessible during our visit. The establishment could benefit from an infusion of interactive features to further captivate the visitors. In essence, the still exudes a sense of being in the midst of completion - a work in progress, so to speak. I love history and I love castles, so I found this castle very enjoyable to visit. Not very busy and there's not a ton going on here, but it is cool to stand in the middle of an old crusader fortress. Also some quaint businesses can be found here! What a blast! 3YR kid loved it. Great cafeteria! Excellent service! I went there Oct 20 evening. Very interactive museum. The dinner conversation with former landlords is especially remarkable. However, it is rather small, but quite pricey. Beautiful to visit at summers, church, great parks and river close by.
