A lovely place to walk and a play area for the Grandchildren. It's very busy in the Summer and the long evenings. You can bring food and have picknic as there are tables and furms to sit on, quite a big green area and lots of tree. Fabulous new walking footpath with wheelchair seating and bench’s around the Great place to have fun with your kids! Beautiful spot for a short walk and to relax among trees. Fantastic selection of trees including oaks, pines, yew, elm, red wood and many more. Very much work exploring. There is also a children's playground and outdoor gym facilities. Great amenity for the town. Lots of benches to sit and relax. Spring is one of my favourite times of year when the flowers come out. Worth the visit. Great for morning walk in any season Well, we absolutely love this park. Firstly there is lots of parking which is essential. Then the is huge. Lots of green areas to play ball if you have a football-mad son as I do. There are 4 swings and one of the large round swings. There is a big zip line, a climbing frame with sand on the ground so the can bring there buckets and spades. There are a number of slides and then all the outdoor exercise machines. There are also climbing frames that the can walk and hop a lot. This will definitely keep the busy for a good 2 hours or more if it's a fine day. Sends shivers down my spine Great place to take the to burn off steam and get a little workout in. Lots of play activities... Zip line, swings, jungle gym, sand pit, round abouts, climbing nets, and out door workout equipment for the adults, seated bench press, seated squat machine, pull up bars, assisted pull up bars, hand cycle, sit up bench, elliptical trainer and more. This is a lovely where children can have lots of fun with the wonderful amenities in the playing area. Sadly people let there dogs soil the grass area in which the dog owners do not clean up. Which is dangerous to children and adults. Doggie loves it. Loads of sticks Came up for a night to Athy as one last thing to do for summer, looked forward to coming to this with the kids, it's a beautiful and the playground was obviously expensive for the council to put in however the was filthy, there were enpty boxes of beer and rubbish everywhere. When we entered the there was a dog running loose and came up and started barking at us, was not a stray but belonged to a group of people. We turned and left, the 4 year old had no interest in staying and either did us parents. Shame because you can see that the council put in plenty money for a lovely park.
