Absolutely the best sheepdog experience! If you're wondering which one to choose, this is the one!! Bridget and Seamus were wonderful hosts. They treat their like members and obviously love them. It was to see the at work, and we learned a lot about sheepdog trials, which I found so interesting. We also got to help bottle the lambs! At the end, we all went into the tiny cottage where Bridget and Seamus's grandparents raised 9 children to hear some Irish music. Just before we all left, another member of our group asked about the hurling sticks sitting out, so we got an impromptu lesson on the unique Irish sport of hurling! Really cool while on our to Ireland. Sammy and Molly stole the show. We visited while on a tour and our guide said that this demonstration at Bridget’s farm is one of the best as it is not commercialized and a huge operation. It was such an authentic and we were glad to be apart of it. Incredible to see a glimpse into the life on the farm in Ireland. This was one of our favorite activities while we were in Ireland! It was so neat to learn about the sheepdog farm industry and how the are raised/trained. We got to see the showing off by herding throughout a field. We were able to pet a couple of donkeys, sheep, the dogs, and even lambs! They let us bottle some as well. They had great homemade items for purchase that make awesome souvenirs. They were so kind and grateful for our business. Truly a local, owned and operated farm with people that are passionate about what they do. Highly recommend! Definitely worthy. The visit and demonstration is well-organized and enriched with personal stories and facts not only about dogs, but also about the way of living from the past and present, it is indeed also a cultural visit. Bridget and the husband with their animals are able to create a very friendly and special atmosphere and you can understand that they love to do what they do (they don’t do it for business as sometimes happens when animals are involved). The location is also beautiful, full of details to discover. I will keep this in a special place in my heart. Easily one of my favourite memories and experiences in Ireland. Bridget and Seamus are so warm and welcoming. We absolutely loved her artwork and purchased them as souvenirs for our homes. We were able to meet her miniature donkeys, puppies and bottle baby lambs! Such a stellar to see the round the to any location we requested! This was a highlight of our recent visit to Ireland, out of many experiences! Our visit was so richly warm and authentic. The who runs this farm offered a wonderful variety of activities: watching the wonderfully talented herd sheep, seeing an old gypsy caravan, sitting in an old farm house and getting tales of life a generation or two ago, and members performing Irish folk music and puppetry. I bought lovely and unique felt art made by the family. Bridget was great, so informative and interesting but the were better. These are amazingly talented and eager animals that can land any five Bridget picks on the head of a pin at a distance of 200 paces. This is more than a quick demo, though. The farm has been passed down from one generation to the next and Bridget has an insane depth of knowledge. The scenery is stunning - I can only imagine what it is like bringing the up the side of the mountain. The West Kerry Sheepdog demonstration was such a great experience! Bridget and her were gracious hosts and showed us the skill and care it took of caring for sheep. The were so well trained and loved their job! The were equally as special! LOVED this demonstration; it was one of our highlights while in Ireland. It is spectacular to watch these in action and learn more about herding. Feeding a lamb a bottle of milk and holding a puppy was a bonus! Many thanks Bridget. You need to contact them in advance to book your spot and to find out which days they hold demonstrations. Farm was very easy to find. Was wonderful Bridget was so informative and made everything super interesting. Definitely somewhere to go visit!! Best part of my tour of Ireland! It was so interesting and fun. Our group of adults enjoyed Bridget and Her brother so much. Definitely worth the visit. It WILL be the highlight of your Wonderful experience! 100% recommend. Stopped by at the end of October and had a great time watching the sheepdog demonstration and feeding the lambs. Happily surprised by a brief musical performance and a wealth of information about the cottage on site as well. Cheers to Bridget and Seamus for being excellent hosts! The BEST part of our Ireland trip! Bridget and Shamus were and so welcoming to us on their beautiful 300+ year old property. Truly an cultural experience, I don’t think you can get any closer to the culture than this. The were so impressive. There is something so about being in nature and around animals like this that is made this stop so special to me, not to mention we were surround by mountains to one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. If you are ever in Kerry County your is not a until you stop here- this is a must do!! Shout out to Mark at Connect the Dots tour for taking us here! Visiting the West Kerry Dog Demonstration was definitely one of my favorite things my did on our tour of Ireland. We had truly been looking forward to it for months, and I have to say, it completely lived up to our expectations! Bridget and Seamus were so welcoming, and they gave us an awesome glimpse into all things herding and the ins-and-outs of dog competitions. If you’re looking for a unique, non-touristy excursion on your to Ireland (and you want to bottle a baby lamb!!), you’ve got to head over to West Kerry Dog Demonstration🐑🐏 Came here in October with our 1 year old daughter and it was absolutely amazing. Bridget was so knowledgeable and did such an demonstration with the and let us the animals. At the end of the tour her partner did a traditional musical demonstration that was spectacular. Would recommend this to everyone and I would definitely visit again. Absolutely incredible dog show! Brigitte explained the commands she uses and you get to watch the magic of the beautiful herding the sheep. We asked so many questions about the and the work they do and she graciously answered every question. We also got to bottle a few and hold miniature goats! It was such a big highlight from our to Ireland. This was one of the many highlights of our to Ireland. It was really cool to learn how the were trained and to see how they herd the sheep. As a bonus we got to baby and hold puppies. And Bridget makes beautiful wool felted artwork you can purchase. Respect and thanks to Bridget and Seamus.
