Great location for a variety of walks and fairly strenuous even the 6km....as lots of up and downs. Plenty of seats for views and picnics and local information, historical and flora etc NB up narrow single track roads from N21...be careful.. but plenty free parking, donation suggested.. Not suitable for pram..buggys etc Signage mostly good... finding the start was the hardest.! Beautiful recreational area. Continuously being updated and maintained. A wonderful asset to our green spaces. Always a pleasure to come here. Parking is provided in the Bernard Collins Car Park. Picnic tables and benches are available throughout the three loop walks that vary from 45-90-150 mins Beautiful spot. Beautiful place for a walk, as long or as short as you want, 3 trails to choose from. Lovely tranquil looped walking trails, three different lengths. Plenty to see & loads of rest spots. Perfect place for a picnic! Look forward to visiting again. Brilliant forest for hiking or running. Dogs on leads are allowed and the metal bridges have pet friendly sections for them to cross Balade et calme Beautiful place to do a hike, there is an approximately 10km with good elevation for hiking, its very challenging and its not for everyone. However there is something for everyone here, from small strolls to just enjoying yourself in the middle of a forest with a lot of benches for seating. It's fine even when the weather isn't that great, however ideally you would be there during dry weather. As generally fit people, bicycling and running, we still found it challenging on the blue loop We were amazed to see runners passing us towards the purple only section and passing us again on the way down. That's endurance! Absolutely gorgeous forest. I love this place! I chose it for a being a halfway point to Dingle, and I think it will now become a destination in its own right! All the placards giving its history, and the beautiful scenery make it a great experience all around. Fantastic place. Big parking spot, usually not too many people. I have done the full 3 hour and the short 1 hour 20 mins and they are both fantastic. The long curves around and joins up to the short walk. On a lovely day, this place is breathtaking. Great place to get out and about, we did the purple loop - take some food and water and stop for a snack on the summit - great views Fantastic walks. The photos shown are misleading. Most of the blue labeled Lenihan was in dense forest, but the main problem was description and timing. From the map it appeared that the would be uphill, then along a ridge and then downhill again, but it wasn't. It was a strenuous up and down,up and down, up and down all the way. Also, it took 4 hours, not 2, as suggested on the map. The views were good but it was much harder going that l expected. The should be labelled "strenuous throughout " Love this trail, great mix of trails. Good for downhill & uphills, beautiful scenery. Great training circuit. You can park at the main carpark and the circuit. Love what the children have done with the fairy forest 🙂 Enjoy A gorgeous walking trail. Spectacular views. It is strenuous, though. Take a lot of water and food. All 3 the shortest-the longest are hard. Lots of benches and picnic tables on the trail.
