We spent one night at this place and had a traditional Irish to start the day. Everything was good, Liz even shared a lot about what we could do around the place and about the history of the place. The room was clean and okay for one night. The place is a bit lost so not much to do around the place (there is one walk that can be found around the city) Thanks for your welcome Better than average Pub menu. Rooms were very comfortable, Garden sitting in back very nice (a bit chilly). Absolutely loved this place the first time my wife and I had visited the Dingle Peninsula. Everybody made us feel so welcome. Liz the owner was terrific and helped with places to visit and see, while we riding around on our motorbikes. Can really recommend a stay at the Anvil bar. We stayed there for a week and we never got bored. The lovely hostess Liz always greets you in the morning with freshly made (you can choose your for the next day) and always knows special places to visit in the area. Even though she is very busy she will always take time to think along and guide you to the nicest spots. She is very caring about her guests (so please let her know if you are coming late in the evening) and has a heartwarming soul full of Irish stories. Stopped here for dinner and were not disappointed. Quirky Irish pub with ba friendly vibe. were very welcoming and the food was delicious as well as being good value. I would highly recommend Dinner was excellent just as breakfast. Nice and clean rooms and lovely hosts/staff. Only 1 negative point, it is located at a busy street and so it can get quite loud up in the rooms, if you have the windows open and also the smell from near by farms doesnt help.. My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Anvil Bar and Restaurant in Boolteens, Kerry, for two nights, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, who made us feel right at home. The accommodation was cozy and comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after our days of exploring the beautiful surroundings. The highlight of our stay, however, was undoubtedly the food. Every meal we had was absolutely gorgeous, with a variety of delicious options that left us eagerly anticipating each dining experience. The Anvil Bar and Restaurant truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway or a culinary delight, this place has it all. The was very friendly and made us feel so welcomed - shout out to Liz who was a host and a pleasure to talk to. The pub serves a pint of Guinness and delicious food - although the kitchen closes at 8pm, which caught us off guard. This was a remarkable experience: everything you expect from a traditional family accomodation in Ireland. Delicious food and beers at the bar for a fair price, kind and open personnel, family atmosphere with friendly local guests, free parking, excellent traditional breakfast, clean and spacious rooms. This is a place where you have to go if you visit Ireland. The owner Liz is so kind and smiling, and explained us in detail all the places worth visiting in the surroundings, like a professional guide. We will definitely come back! On a multi-generational trip to Ireland our Irish family in the made reservations for all of us at the Anvil Restaurant. Over 20 people gathered and we were not disappointed! Fabulous!! 5 of us stayed on motorbikes and the welcome was amazing. What a wonderful lady Liz was. We toured all of Ireland in 8 days and the Anvil Bar had the best breakfast. Delicious evening meals too. Had a shocking at the Anvil Bar on Mother's Day. We had our plans set to have lunch there; we were highly anticipating the day out. Upon ordering and chips, we overheard another customer sending back as they were not fresh and undercooked. Then our meal was served. The had the appearance of being meaty and tender. Only to discover much of the size came down to old, disgusting, and leathery batter. The was dry and one fillet must have been divided between all three of us. Half of the were old, refried whereas the other half was a new batch undercooked. Diabolical food. In an effort to give feedback to a manager, we were told there is no manager. So, we expressed our to the staff. We were treated rudely and met with annoyance. When we arrived home, our daughter felt ill after the meal. Do not go to this bar. The service is poor, the food is atrocious and we could not even contact the owner. The young ladies who were serving there were fine, but the others seemed annoyed by our concern and complaint. We stayed here for 3 nights recently and enjoyed our tremendously. The room was well kept, quiet, and spacious, and it was convenient to hop down to the quaint bar for a pint, dinner, or snack. was very good. Liz was a fun personality and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area; she even drew maps for us on how to get to our destination, lent us umbrellas, and saw us off when we checked out. Though you can't walk to much from The Anvil, it turned out to be a perfect location for several day trips - to Dingle and Slea Head Drive, and to Killarney, as well as to Inch Beach (only a few miles down the road) to watch the sunset. find!
