Nice little cafe in the centre of town serving up some & ice cream. The staff are super friendly and the spacious seating area with ceiling to floor windows is a place for people watching. It has a variety of drinks, ice and different deserts and cakes. It is a very nice place with a special atmosphere. It also has two floors. One of the few places around, which holds the line and does not allow smoking inside! Highly recommended! I love Yoanna and sweets. However I truly hate the at their downtown location in the Opera square. And it’s not even about them not remembering me as a regular client for the past two plus years, forget about the personal touch there. It’s about employees doing inadequate things and then arguing with the client as if the client is requesting something absurd or stupid. In this particular case tonight I request a cake and a non cake to go and she puts them in the same box. As I see that I say we have a gluten allergy in the family and they need to be put them in separate boxes. She starts arguing with me that I should have warned her and that each to-go box costs money therefore she automatically assumes I want to save on the cost of the box, trying to justify her action. As I try to educate her on not mixing and non things because it may be an allergy or at least ask the customer what their preference is, she continues arguing with me that people ordering may not have a gluten allergy. Like she didn’t get any of what I said nor did she care. And most important point that so many businesses in Bulgaria don’t get: please stop arguing with the client because that is simply not a business practice. If they are not happy about something, hear them out, apologize and try to do better next time. At least this is what a business practice would do. I keep telling myself I should simply not set foot in that branch to spare me the too frequent irritation of communicating with the employees there (the Yoanna bakery location where the owner works is usually better) but once in a while I yield to my son’s craving for ice and go there. Sadly I have had too many episodes of that nature (every time is about different stupid little things) and I am just fed up with how dense and rude they are. I am sad for the owner who makes a really product to be spoiled by really bad service. The itself if very pretty and nice, but the is not that great. The and desserts are good, but coffees and other beverages are mediocre. They don’t have all that’s in the menu and very often don’t have basic plant based milks for their latte. Also the place is not that clean. They have products and started the place well but now it looks kinda left on its own without much maintenance. is amazing, endless unique and treats to try, waitresses are courteous, is quick!
