Lovely Park. Star gazing at the observatory would be great, if there wouldn't be kids and teenagers running about with torches making it impossible to take pictures. Its worth going somewhere else in the park. It is a great place for adults and children at the same time. You can take walks in the woods, can check out the planetarium and also join star walks at night. Price is reasonable. Facilities include restrooms, also accessible for people with disabilities, big parking lot, some snacks and ice cream at the cashier desk. For guided tours reservations upfront are highly recommended. The observatory is beautiful and modern, there is a small playground in front of it with balance beams in the shape of constellations. There are daily programs almost every day, Sunday morning is great with little kids in the Planetarium. Modern bathroom facilities and exhibitions are inside the building, a tall tower with lookout point and picnic tables outside. Great to visit with family, be careful on the drive there the road is a narrow one lane, use caution with hikers and bikers too. The area is occasionally closed down for forestry or hunting activities, read the signs carefully. Beautiful and pleasant place, spacious parking, and there was a lookout tower nearby on the way to Dugás Well. The lookout tower is also great, but it's recommended to bring at least binoculars to observe the sky at night. The staff was very helpful and kind, and there is a lot of useful information on the Facebook page. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys evening hikes :) One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Just 1 point less because we did a tour and nobody was speaking English or German. Magical place! Dr. László Mosoni was so kind to give us an introduction lecture in english language before the main session, as we joined the hungarian-speaking group. Amazing experience both for solar and observations! Also the park has a lot of cute animals living there, we met a lot of bunnies and a fox:) Great learning experience. Although we had a cold night, had a clear and beautiful view of the sky (even though I visited at the end of November). This sky is only seen in the Internet but through tour, you can see with your eyes. It's so impressive and unforgettable experience. Moreover the staffs here are so nice and hospitable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Barátnőmmel részt vettünk a 14:15-kor kezdődő vezetett programon, amely minden várakozásunkat felülmúlta. Bár a felhős égbolt miatt a Nap távcsöves megfigyelése az elején elmaradt, a program így is rendkívül tartalmas és élvezetes volt. A planetáriumi film lenyűgöző élményt nyújtott, a tárlatvezetés pedig szakmailag magas színvonalú, ugyanakkor közvetlen és lelkes előadással párosult. A program végén, amikor rövid időre előbukkant a Nap, a lelkes tárlatvezető visszahívott bennünket a távcsőhöz, hogy mégse távozzunk úgy, hogy ne láttuk volna – ez a gesztus igazán szívmelengető és emlékezetes volt.🙏 Külön köszönet minden ott dolgozónak a lelkiismeretes, színvonalas és szakértelemmel teli munkáért, valamint az emberségből jeles hozzáállásért.
