Interesting historical place, where especially Carl 4th 20 years worked and built fundaments of Czech history. is an urban treasure and I wish we could access more than just walking through and around it, although neighboring town is cool and rife with history as well. Park at the huge town coin pay lot as you roll into it and just hoof it around. If you like medieval places have a look here. It was an important place for the Kaiser back in the days. Not huge but very close to the cozy main market in Lauf. Lovely right in the middle of Lauf. Definitely worth a stop by when in town, nice way to get from the S Bahn station to the old town is going through the via the wonderful old wooden bridges. There’s also a lovely and well kept garden by the river to sit and admire the castle’s architecture. Very nice in spring with beautiful flowers and trees for shade! Beautiful place. Old Town. People are very nice and polite. And don't forget to have hot wine ND your cup... Picturesque landmark in a lovely town with lots of shops and eateries, making for a nice afternoon walkabout. I did not see much in the way of historical information about/near the castle, so if you are looking for those sorts of details you may find it lacking, but the location and surrounding area were worth the stop for me!
