We went there for birding in the evening but were not lucky to get a boat to explore the park. From information center, we got to know there are only 2 boat trips available during the day - one at 12 noon and another at 5pm. There is no concept of booking a boat trip in advance. This marshland is created by many underground rivers, of which Krupa is the biggest. I've biked all around the two lakes (which are separated by a hill in the middle) and it is simply amazing. You can feel the presence of the Adriatic sun in the middle of December! Such an amazing experience! But the best time to visit Hutovo Blato is June. Everything is so green. It's a pretty big park. we could not see many flying creatures due to the season. Although we were warned, but we could not see the water snake either. waterways are great. It gives the impression that you are living in a completely different world, like amazons! I recommend it for those who have time and lake water lovers. Nice park, nice people onsite, but it's preferable to visit outside the hottest hours of the day. Boat tour is really cool in a swamp where many birds are living and flying off when we arrived. Treetop path adapted for kids No doubt am important nature protection area. For tourist, bird watchers, etc: there is no information available, walking trails do not exist, are not signposted or can not be found. There are some expensive boating activities but apparently nothing to do with bird watching or nature. Best to wait a few years for further development . Beautiful swamp area including boat trip around. Very nice part of narure to see. If you are lucky you will see different types of birds and even small turtles and fish. They could do something to get the service on a higher level there, for example to make entrance area more nice and atractive. Amazing place for everyone to see at least once. Hard to belive Bosnia and Herzegovina is blessed with so many hidden gems. Nat Geo crew was a good sign that we were at the right spot.
