A fortress dating from around the first half of the 15th century. It is clearly visible from the road leading to Stolac. Medieval walled at the top of the hill overlooking the town. You can park at the bottom and then bike up a residential street to get to the entrance. Unfortunately there is not much information and it is not very well maintained but still fun to explore Atmospheric fortress, with many layers of history. Easy to access from the main road. There is a route up next to the old restaurant. Free to enter and great views. The biggest medieval B&H fortified castle. Pretty much preserved, but not well maintained, with plaques or guide missing. 10 minutes walk up to the place from the town. View on surrounding area is nice. One of the coolest fortresses in Bosnia! It's absolutely huge. There weren't any tourists there at all. This fortress isn't completely rebuilt for tourism, which is actually really charming. It's rough around the edges but is absolutely beautiful and was free to enter- can't go wrong! Stolac is a with the largest number od Nationa monuments. This fortress is also among them. Originaly built in the Mediaval time, but activley used in Ottoman and Austro- Hungarian time. Svakako posjetiti Vidoški is the medieval of Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The ancient is located above the modern city. This beautiful of Stolac has so much to offer with amazing nature scenery all around and so many historical sites to visit nearby. The old of Stolac is something to visit if you are passing through this area. The walls are well preserved considering their age, but the whole place should definitely be better decorated. But regardless of all that, if you find yourself in Stolac and have time, visit the old town. And of course, choose one of the beautiful swimming spots on the Bregava River and swim. Definitely worth the steep walk up for the amazing views, free to enjoy, we had the place to ourselves bar the little roaming tortoise which was lovely Not touristy at all with little information but enough we stopped here because we was at the waterfall 5mins away having a swim and decided to walk around. Was cool as it's one of the biggest fortresses and still quite preserved, not to mention free! Parking down on the main or near the main street and a little climb to the entrance definitely easy if you are semi fit unless it's a very hot day, nice little old in the main with old mosteband old house down there with good cafes. Srednjovijekovni grad Stolac, odnosno Vidoški...vrijedi obici. Tvrdjavu je potrebno jos urediti...treba uloziti ima potencijal da privuce jos vise turista. 💪🇧🇦🇧🇦🇧🇦 Очень красивая, огромная крепость. Очень рада, что мы сходили Incredible view of the valley on top of the castle, if i had the money, I would instantly buy it and turn it into a music café, you know what I mean when you get there. About 15 minutes walk to the castle from the parking and spend about 30 minutes at the castle. Sigurno lijepo mjesto koje vrca u mislibubprisla vremena, a ublizini Bregava prelijep osjecaj Visited the fort around 9am on sunday morning and was completely empty 👌 No charge to enter and only 10-15mims walk from center. Very cool place with lots of history (1000yr before christ) Highly recommend visiting if tou are in Stolac. One of the best places i've been! Definetely needs to be visited. The river makes the a fairy tale.
