Awesome place! We were there for light lunch, we took sõir and 2 soups - one with fish and another with mushrooms. Everything was tasty. update 2022 Everything were tasty update 2024 Everything is still tasty, while nowadays it's becoming quite expensive update 2025 Well, it is expensive. And seems portion size is getting smaller. We took meatball and it was quite small. Also took pancake with mushrooms and they were extremely salty. Sad. Very good food and comfort athmosphere. Also reasonable prices. This is as authentic as it gets - one of the very rare places where you can travel 100 years back in time. Plus, you'll be treated like the King of Setuland here! Food is great too, if quite hearty - genuine local home cooking. Don't be shy to ask about what to see and where to go - you may find yourself invited for private views of attractions as we did! Everything inside the house is decorated according to the best examples of Setomaa and Russian Old Believers. Everything we enjoyed was great! I loved the beautiful house and the yard. Good was great, too. We ordered filled cabbage leaves (very traditional in Estonia) and cold soup, which was made of sour cream and fresh vegetables. It sounds quite odd but extremely delicious. One thing lacking tho was the service. I guess it was the owner welcoming us. It was rather rude. It was a really hot day, so it could have been to do with this, or she just had a bad day. But it didn't leave me with positive emotions. Tho in the end another lady came to clear the table and she was really sweet and chatty. I definitely would recommend going there and I am sure next time my experience there will be better. A family house with simple, home cooked, rather pricy food in small portions. No one there spoke English, but could translate the menu in Russian. Paid 8 euro for only 2 cups of coffee (4euro each). The Lady, very nice, deliberately informed that the coffee was already prepared in the thermos for a previous group of people therefore cost was sunk for them and we defintely overpaid It. Cannot say anything about food, as we didn't order it, but service and mainly price is not worth It. Arrived there with 6 adults and 4 kids. Personell was rude, the first thing mentioned was “there are so many of you” (and continued to repeat it). Then we continued to enter so that we could find a place to put our things. Before we were able to do that the lady told us with annoyed voice “Where are you going!?” We thought we were going towards reserved table or smth, but she continued “no need to take a table before ordering here!”. We went to the entrance to see the one big menu on the wall. The lady translated the menu to us, mentioning that in the cuisine that supposed to have 3 different meats in it, has only one left etc. As the service/behavior of the waitress was HORRIBLE and prices were very high, we decided to leave eventhough we originally were excited to try local cuisine. With these prices there should at least be table service. Stopped here for lunch and dinner few times. Tasty, home made Seto food. Huge portions. House looks like a museum, so you will enjoy the food in an authentic environment with Seto music on the background. Outdoor terrace and playground for the kids. There is also a cat. If the cat thinks you deserve, she might allow you to make a picture :D Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
