The panoramic and the easy access makes this place a valuable sunrise and sunset’s spot. Warning! Do not follow the directions provided in here - search for Forestry Hanche and when you reach it continue driving up the road - there will be a sharp turn to the left and then you continue climbing up until you reach the tower. Great views and old fort just complements the experience. If you visit Gabrovo you must visit this place. It's an interesting place, thought a bit abandoned... it's a historical place, a fortress with many buildings, mostly ruins, some covered with so much grass, you can not found. There is an interesting basilica ruins; it's a bit wild, super green place. Also there is a magnificent of the whole city of Gabrovo, really a breathtaking one; Plus there is an eco trail, so you can enjoy the nature; not super popular, but free Nice walk. Free entrance Excellent as I have limited Bulgarian but managed to send a letter with no problems 👍👍 The is amazing, most of the way is a good enough road and the rest is taken up by great forest paths. There's not much to see when you get there so make sure you take in the scenery, forest sounds and the view. Nice views from there. Road to top of the hill is accessible with all type of cars but is very steep and narrow. So beautiful views. Just walk to the big antenna and walk from the left from it - there is a narrow trail to the point. So beautiful. You can walk down from there - there is a nice trail till the small picnic park, and then back taking "gradishe trail". It's a bit further, also from this picknick area at your left and up... So it's actually round track. I would say 40 minutes each way. Very quiet and beautiful forest. A great Panoramic over the town of Gabrovo. The name Gradishte (ruins/site of an ancient town) takes after the remains of a 4-6th century byzantine fortress at the same location. There are few small restaurants situated nearby working usually on weekends. It's a popular visiting location expecially on Saturdays and Sundays when crowds of locals come for leisure. 🏰 It's nothing much to see as an archaeological site. I saw one sign talking about the particular ruins it was on and one site that was still being dug up or so it seems. However, as a viewpoint, it's gorgeous - the is insane from two or three windows through the woods. I came during sunset in autumn so that's what pushed it to 4 stars, I'm certain it's beautiful in other seasons but you can hardly beat autumn. The ekotrail to Gradishte starts here (white, red, white) It's quite pretty, the road up is wonderful as well, you drive through amazing foliage and in autumn it's heavenly. There's a spot to leave your car, it can accommodate around 10 cars if you park along the road but it doesn't seem that visited so I don't think you should worry. Most of my photos are from huji, make of that what you will :D Любимо място за почивка и отдих. Уникална гледка особено вечер.
