Truly an incredible to a bygone era. It is truly sad that it is falling apart in this day and age. The architecture is astounding and the size of the is truly humbling. There is no entry permitted to the interior. The doors are all welded shut and secured with padlocks. The old entrance to the basement through the hole is now sealed up. The to the from the south is in good condition and clear most of the time. The from the north is treacherous in the winter. As of December 9th, the north was mostly slush and there are tons of potholes. We were able to leave the on the north road, despite google saying it was closed. However, stick to route 5005 if you do this. Also, pray for good weather! Realistically, I would just approach and leave from the south route. The is really a wonder to see and I wish I could have gained access to the interior. My wife said it had ghosts. This is spectacular! What an amazing piece of architecture. It's such a shame how neglected it now is. It was very worthwhile to visit to see this in person. One of my highlights of my trip! It was extremely windy and cold at the top but still worthwhile exploring. By far the most spectacular instance of socialist-era architecture still present in Bulgaria. I strongly recommend a visit in you're interested in 20th century history An excellent experience! The drive up wasn't difficult and the roads were in far better condition than I expected from other reviews. It was very quiet when we went with only one other person there! It was very very windy and cold up on the mountain despite being a warm and sunny day lower down. I'd definitely recommend brining a coat! 👍👍 Visiting the Buzludzha is an unforgettable experience! The itself is absolutely amazing to see up close. With its unique design and imposing presence make it a must-visit. While you can’t go inside, and there’s a guard to ensure the site remains protected, the visit is still incredibly worthwhile. The surrounding views are breathtaking, offering stunning panoramas that are as impressive as the itself. Standing there, overlooking the landscape, is an experience I’ll never forget. If you’re in the area, Buzludzha is a must-see! Stunning views, a glimpse into perhaps the most iconic communist era relic in the world. No access, but worth seeing from outside. Steep narrow access car is essential. The enormous was truly impressive! A fantastic experience to see in person, even with the hard conditions of Winter. However, there is an issue with the Bulgarian authorities: they do not preserve it properly. Instead of developing a solid plan to restore this magnificent structure, they simply prevent visitors from entering. Wonderful place, the is not as complicated as you can read online.
