There are hundreds of acres of parklands and woods. Fabulous place for a through the farmland on the gravel paths. A picnic area with toilet facilities would make this a fine tourist attraction. Dalgan Park is the home of the Missionary Society of St Columban in Ireland. Great around the grounds, miles of paths to in mature woodland and river side too. 4 yo and 2 yo and both thoroughly enjoyed it. Path a but bumpy in places for scooter but 99% of it smooth flat tarmacadam paths. A large part of Dalgan's grounds are open to the public every day. It's a farm, spiritual education & administration centre, and a retirement home but for us it provides beautiful walks with 3 distinct areas of Woodland, Riverside and Grazing Fields. A route map adjacent to the visitor car park illustrates the 7km of walks. They're all fairly gentle gradients and suitable for all ages but don't don't bring your pets or bicycles since it is an active farm too. Extremely well maintained, picturesque and peaceful. Good to visit in all the seasons. Dalgan is a gem. V peaceful place to or run. Always plenty of people about so its safe. These are private grounds that are open to the public and its also a working farm so areas are off limits. The Boyne and Skane river go through here and its very beautiful. No toilets no cycling and no dogs Dalian park has beautiful woodland walks .gravel pathways everywhere.a must for a peaceful and oh yes free parking.
