Stayed in their car park with my motorhome. Lots of CCTV, so felt secure. Came in every day for a bite to eat, good food, good prices. Excellent amenities for motorhomes including toilet waste dumping point. They even have showers, if you ask the for a key. Friendly staff. Great location. There's even a bus to Dublin Airport that stops right in front. We visited The Strand on our trip to Rush. It’s an amazing place, that has managed to keep a fine balance between a retro Irish Pub as well as a new-age restaurant & club. The music was amazing, cocktails were good and the place is very lively. The is very cordial and there’s ample of place ! They have a smoking place as well in the backyard which isn’t at all a gas chamber :P (if you know what I mean). All and all, we loved the place and will definitely visit again, and recommend to our colleagues and friends … Cheers … Service was great ...don't go for the food. Nice pub a couple pints. Food was delicious, proper pub food, servers all lovely, would only say to have a bottle of ketchup at the tables instead of a tiny little cup when asked. Other than that perfect and cozy, even better Bulmers on draft! Lovely food but not changing for babys as the strap on the changing unit is broken and my son nearly when head first into the toilet luckily l caught him Excellent service...food not great. Louisiana wings have a sweet and sticky sauce not the expected spicy / tangy sauce. Chicken goujons meat too soft...consistency of reformed chicken. Chicken burger was nice..chicken fillet. Nice enough atmosphere in the pub but probably won't be running back. Beautiful food, cooked to perfection! Thd were really warm and welcoming, there isn't a single fault to find with the food, service or prices. Highly recommend to all I don't tend to post reviews online, but after the expirience I had tonight, I feel as if I have to because it was not only disappointing, but the incredibly unprofessional management did not help our situation with poor quality food, and being served material that was inedible, which is dangerous. To summarise; me, my partner and his parents went to have dinner. I am a vegetarian/pescetarian, so I found the menu (which was not detailed, which raises questions about allergens) limited in options. We ordered both our starter and main at the same time. As a starter, I chose to have the nachos, with the beef on the side, my partner and his parents had the wings. As a main, we ordered the pesto baked salmon, the Turkey and Ham with vegetables, the Louisana chicken burger, and a Jo burger. Additionally, we asked the server what was in the mixed veg; to which we were told turnip, carrot, and parsnip. When the food arrived as requested, I was disappointed not only at the portion size, but the food that arrived; plain nachos, with what appeared to be a slice of slice of cheese and a small portion of what i believe to be guacamole. No salsa, no jalapeños or any other dressings. We then waited atleast 30-40 minutes, with three members of asking us what we were waiting on, which suggested that either our order was no inputted or there had been confusion behind the scenes. As someone who had worked in hospitality, I understand it happens, however, it was clear that there was no floor plan, or methodology to how the servers were working, which is a managerial issue. The servers were friendly and respectful and helpful, albeit a tad slow due to the lack of a clear floor plan. The Pesto Salmon came on a bed of unseasoned and overcooked mash, with a side of boiled, unpeeled, cubed carrot. It looked unappetising and was not worth €13.50. The Turkey and Ham was hard, possibly due to it seeming microwaved. The side of vegetables was the same unappealing carrot. We requested something else as a side. We informed our server of the quality of the salmon dish, and they relayed a message from the Chef; that the salmon was cooked correctly, which was the least of our worries as the quality of the food was severely lacking. Once again, the server offered every possible alternative they could, to their praise. However they did reveal that the kitchen made their potatoes "each morning"; our booking was at 18:30, we were recieved our meals at 19:40. Additionally, the extra side of veg arrived after we had had finished our food. My partner then discovered that the chorizo on Louisana Chicken Burger still had the plastic casing on it; the chef either did not know what ingredients they were using or did not correctly prepare the food. This was the final straw for us. We then requested to speak to the manager. When he arrived, he informed us that he had "taken the head off" the serving staff, which I believe was incredibly inappropriate as our issues had nothing to do with them and did not deserve it, and frankly felt like a weird power trip, in my opinion. We explained our displeasure with the food, and then told him there was plastic in the food. Instead of trying to immediately verify this issue, he chose to argue that we were wrong, and that the substance edible because he "had ten years experience as a chef". This back and forth continued for atleast five minutes. To clarify, cured chorizo does not contain a plastic covering. However, uncured chorizo does and it must be removed, but the manager did not accept that this was even a possibility. When he subsequently left to check with the kitchen, he arrived back with the bill folded in his hand, telling us "not to to argue" with him. He had removed all our food from the bill. However, he had checked the kitchen and found out that we had indeed been served plastic that should have been removed before being cooked. This establishment clearly has issues at a managerial level and I will not be returning. We shouldn't have to argue that plastic isn't edible.
