The desserts were also excellent I especially liked the Pavlova and my wife loved her tiramisu. Will definitely come again. Delicious wings in very honesty price 😋🫶 were really good. We had the muscles and ribs as started which we would highly recommend. The chicken burger and roast beef for mains were also favourites and well worth the hype. Really let down by the brownie for desert though. Grainy, lacked flavour and undercooked. Would love to go back again but will avoid what is normally my favourite desert Came here for the first time today. Beautiful pub with a really traditional Irish feel and décor. It was busy but the were all great, especially Amy! was surprisingly fast and the food was delicious. I got the turkey and ham - big portion, loads of veg, served hot, and really tasty. Reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommend! This place is just amazing. We have been here for our celebration and we left very satisfied. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere, the provided by Harry and Rebecca (super friendly), and the food was incredible. My friend had the fish special, it was according to her but not worth the 33euro price tag. I had green curry which I think was €17.50. , and overpriced. It was ok. The orange banoffi was ok. The pub itself is amazing. Definitely 5stars. The young waitress with the black hair and glasses was super and very at her job. Not over the top, did her job to the best of her ability. I called in for lunch and enjoyed the potato & Leek soup, followed with a Christmas themed ciabatta of turkey, ham, stuffing and cranberry sauce, with a side of gravy and chips. Only a 20min drive from Dublin airport and a short drive from the motorway, this is well worth a short detour to take in the history of visiting a pub that has deeds dating back to 1595. Firstly it's a pub to visit. The pub has wood burning stoves lighting was fully decorated for Xmas and had a feeling of holidays are coming. The food is excellent and I can personally vouch that the Guinness is A+. Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years myself I can say that the are brilliant, they were very attentive and friendly. This is something that should never be overlooked and is something that is becoming less frequent these days. I had heard that the pub offers parking for motorhomes so I asked and indeed they do. All they ask is you make yourself known to the staff, provide your reg number and then come in and have a meal and drinks. They informed me it's a spot that many using the ferry avail of. They have live music on each weekend. Give it a go you won't be disappointed. 👍👍 The Sunday roast ( beef ) was the best meal I had during my stay in Ireland. Such a beautiful and charismatic place. Proper quaint with the thatched roof outside and the amazing Xmas decorations inside(we visited between Xmas & New Year). Brilliant food and in the restaurant. Got chatting to some of local regulars and had a nights craic with them. Bar staff, including the owner were so hard working but still very and plenty of craic. There was also a live musician in the bar and he was really good. Going home having had a brilliant night and will definitely be recommending to friends. We loved the authenticity It was a time and we were able to get a seat without a reservation… Suggest getting a reservation. I had the burger and it was a little too done for my liking. My wife got the roast of the day it was ok she said and wished she would have gotten the pasta… Boys got the fish and chips which was great! has us coming back will definitely try something different food wise. Seems like a local place which is nice! We visited The Man O’ War on New Year’s Eve for a family lunch and it was exceptional. The food was excellent, the was fantastic — friendly, attentive and genuinely personable — and the was relaxed and welcoming. A really from start to finish. Mains were (turkey and ham, roast lamb). The problem was dessert. We ordered pavlova and cheesecake (€7.50 each) and I had an Americano (€3.50). The coffee arrived immediately in a small cup (see picture). I had to ask for the desserts after 15mins waiting for them to come. The cheesecake was quite small (2” by 2”) (see picture). For the prices charged, the portion size of the coffee and the cheesecake was very poor. It was I cannot speak highly enough of Man o War. We had our intimate wedding celebration on Saturday and from start to finish we had a wonderful experience. Everyone we dealt with was super and all organisation was done smoothly with the right advice and input for what we were looking for. A particular mention to Elaine and Louise who looked after us and our family prior and on the day. So many of our guests made particular mention to how and helpful they were, so much so they they genuinely added to the overall for us all.
