Fajny mościk w Skofja Loka. Fantastic spot with beautiful views Good views of the city, a pleasant stop in Kranj. Lepo obnovljen lesen most v prelepem okolju lahko izkoristite tudi za prijeten sprehod. Ostaja pa spomin na mlade dni, ko smo se v tolmunu pod mostom, ki se umenuje PENE, še kopali . Scenic traditional with great nature views! Place, which made nice city even better! Cosy and spectacular above loud stream between rocks and houses) "The Devil's footbridge" is just one of the bridges in Skofja Loka but by far the most beautiful one. It leads from the town to the nearest village of Pustal across the Poljanska Sora. The here can be very wild and this is what makes this and the surrounding area even more interesting. The nature here is very beautiful and from the you can also take a great view at the castle and the town itself. The is made from wood and it has 3 chapels..one on each end of it and one stands in the middle of the bridge. The reason for so many chapels on one is simple..the story goes that once upon a time the was often seen here, walking on the bridge. That's why the is called the way it is. To get rid of the the locals decided to built the first two chapels on every end of the to chase the away. This worked but only for some time. The was soon seen again, but this time only in the middle part of the bridge. That is why the locals then built the third chapel right in the middle of it. This finaly worked and the was chased away for good. I absolutly recommend that you visit the bridge. If you like nature and good views, you won't be sorry. 😸 Lovely and water sound. Quick stroll from city center. If you’re brave enough… Joke!! Obviously! :P Still a nice stroll and view. Hope they’ll rebuild it soon. The with a shrine, named after the ancient appearances of the devil, connects the settlement of Puštal with Škofja Loka. With its surroundings, the Devil's Bridge, under which the Poljane Sora froths, is one of the most picturesque locations in Škofja Loka. From the there is a great view of the Church of the Holy Cross on Hribec, which dates from the 18th century. A path leads up to the church with the 12 Stations of the Cross. This is the story about the and how it got it's name: The of Puštal anf Škofja Loka know to tell that the across the Sora got its name after ancient visitations of at this place. When the locals built shrines on both sides of the bridge, they drove him away for some time, but then again he started visitations in the middle of the bridge. They finally managed to drive him away under the Šturm rock by building a shrine dedicated St. John Nepomuk, the patron of bridges, in the middle of the footbridge. Nevertheless, the had teased with the of Puštal even before setting up the across the Sora river. The of Puštal were good comb makers and they sold combs at fairs also to the of Škofja Loka. As there was no across the Poljanščica at old times, they took combs to the Loka's fair by boat. There was a hidden in the Šturm rock by the Poljanščica and he overturned the boat of the of Puštal so that the comb makers were frequently wet, and the bags with combs ended at the bottom of the river. Because the of Puštal had enough of the devil's chaff, they decided to build a across the river; however, they only had enough money to make a footbridge. The engry revenged by breeding frogs in all Puštal puddles which with their croaking did not allow the of Puštal to sleep. The inventive of Puštal started hunting frogs. But the more they hunted them the more there were as the whistled to them all nights. Yet, when he was not tending frogs, he was, seducing the mayor's daughter. When the mayor found out, who the mysterious wooer was, he decide to put an end to it and together with the men from Puštal he filled up the cave on Krancelj and thus caught the devil, who could only come out under the Šturm rock, if he had bathed in the Sora before that. This made the so angry that one night in his burning anger he threw a giant rock on the Puštals's to destroy it. However, the footbridge, although a one, remained complete, but it is still bent today and this is the origin of its second name-Bent footbridge. The under the Šturm rock is long gone, but frogs in Puštal puddles are still there, and if you listen very carefully, you can certainly hear their croaking. Great for a afternoon walk after siteseeing in Škofja Loka with a local legend sticking to the bridge, read it at the one of the ends of the path. Just rebuild after 2023 floods.
