We stayed in the "suite" on the golf course and really enjoyed it. The kitchen is reasonably outfitted, but lacks a cutting board. You will have to bring everything with the exception of salt and pepper. The living area is comfortable with a great view. It's very quiet. If you want to walk to town it's 15 minutes down but more back up. Price was a little high but the location and view are nice. Too dear for the standard of the course,9 holes cost way too much. We were in the bar for a coffee and a pint. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Lovely friendly chatty staff. It was very clean. You could get different types of coffee and ice creams. Stunning view looking straight over at Hook Lighthouse Highs and Lows staying here. Myself and my wife travel around a lot. We’ve stayed in lots of self catering places, so I feel we have a good idea of what good looks like in this area. Here is what we liked: Amazing view. Clean and tidy apartment Peaceful and quiet Easy booking Easy check in Short walk into town. Here’s what we didn’t like so much: Immediately after booking we received an email of Terms and Conditions, followed by another of Rules and Regulations. We then find the booking deposit is utterly non refundable. On the morning we are due to arrive, we get a text looking for an e.t.a. for arrival as check-in is closing at 3pm. On arrival: cafe and restaurant is gone. It won’t be back as there is a notice up for planning permission to change its usage. Website doesn’t state this and we’d already booked and paid before we found out. Nothing is provided. Literally nothing. Towels, essentials: nothing. The apartments are very no frills. There was no effort to make them cosy, homely, or anything. No coffee machine. Oven was dirty, tinfoil on shelves with crumbs on them. Kettle had some old water in it. There isn’t as much as salt and pepper in the apartment. There is a loud humming noise to be heard from either a fridge or cooling system, which can be heard clearly from the main bedroom during the night and cuts in and out intermittently. During the day when check in is open, a loud tv or radio can be heard from the apartment. Beautiful location. Motorhome area not worth 39 euro a night plus 2 euro for shower. The chemical toilet was meters from us ond other users. We were basically on a grass verge. A lot of work still going on around the place. It would be great if some of it was for motorhome users and not just an after thought. My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Suite last weekend…. 2 nights of absolute heaven. The location of the suite is like no other. The views where breathtaking and the privacy is 100% We feel like we’ve been away for 2 weeks, never mind 2 days! Cannot wait to return and cannot recommend this idilic suite and heavenly location any higher! Perfect location, close to beach, restaurants & bar, all within walking distance. Lovely cafe/bar on site. Arrived here with a campervan ..beautiful setting but really not set up for campervans Campers' kitchen locked at 7!!! Despite it being expensive to book, everything was extra ..showers and electricity Dunmore East is lovely but this is not a suitable campervan facility!
