We stayed within a couple of K's within the town, however the stretch we did , was awesome, walker friendly, paths, (sealed) and clearly marked for pedestrians and bikes, definitely worth doing if time permits. The Waterford Greenway is an excellent path for and cycling, perfect for families. I took a 10km route, which became a 20km round trip, and used TFI cycle hire for my journey. I found this option to be the most cost-effective, with a rental fee of only 10.50 euros for 5 hours. Although the TFI cycle was a bit heavy, it was a way to save some money. Overall, I highly recommend the Waterford Greenway for anyone looking for a fun and family-friendly outdoor adventure. Don't hesitate to rent a bike from one of the nearby cycle hire options, and be sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore all that the Greenway has to offer! Very scenic. Places to stop along the way Access is easy for car (dedicated car park) & bicycle owners but pedestrian access from the Quays is severely problematic especially if you have children in tow or have a disability. While the path is perfect tarmac & secluded VISUALLY from the major highway passing less than 200 metres along its initial 5-7 kms the road noise is most certainly audible. Still one passes through high hedges with views towards peaceful fields on one side along the route. Greenway is simply a stunning location with so much of to see there during your walk or from Waterford to Dungarvan. Awesome idea to turn old railroad to the cycling/ path. Ruta preciosa con muchísimas bayas para coger moras, al lado de un lago y pasando por una vieja estación de tren, qué sigue funcionando. Increíble. This place is for cycling, running, walking, any form for movement really! It's approximately 42 Kms and very well kept. A lovely cycle to enjoy with friends or family, young or old. Absolutely stunning experience! The Waterford Greenway is beautifully maintained, with breathtaking views all along the route—from the coastlines to the lush countryside. Perfect for or walking, and for families, couples, or solo adventurers. Plenty of spots to stop for coffee or a bite to eat. A must-visit if you're in the area! Amazing experience! The greenway is paved all the way, it’s quiet and calm for a long ride enjoying the view! Cycled this in a few days ago and it's a route to ride on with views, a really good surface and lots of very nice cafe's along the way. place for all family, cycling, walking, running or scooters. From start to WIT Arena also good for skates. Could be crowded but has a really nice scenery on the way to Dungarvan. It needs more sheltered areas in case of rain and some benches to sit on but overall Greenway is brilliant. One of the Best projects in Waterford is the green way 46 km long track , it is done professionally it has lot of beautiful scenery, frequent Coffee stops , water fountains are present frequently and also some stops that has bike maintenance gears , I wish there were more in the future ❤️ , My favourite spot is the Clonea strand few Kim before Dungarvan check my Instagram for frequent greenway posts @girleeeen place for walking, running or cycling, lovely scenic view all the way.
