The is and the tours are brilliant Absolutely with a huge selection of amazing plants and flowers, lawns and wooded areas. Views of the river also, plus a restaurant to eat in after walking around. I treated myself to annual membership and have been a regular visitor over the last year. It is truly a magical place to visit in all seasons. Particularly in spring when everything is coming into bloom. It's so much more than a simple 'garden' it's a forest, almost jungle-like in places. I do a lot of walking in here, usually spending about an hour or so looping around the various trails. And thankfully in the last few months, the has been vastly improved! In the past I wasn't a big fan and used to avoid it pretty much. But since they've done the overhaul, we've eaten here 4 or 5 times and have had the most delicious meals. The scones are superb. The coffee is also very good. Big big change from what it was in the past, thanks to the new head chef JB Dubois (ex GrowHQ). Side note: the annual membership is amazing value at €100 for 12month access (2 x adults, 2 x kids), including a 10% discount in the and cafe. Newly reopened Mt. Congreve is a fabulous day out! There are miles of walks with something interesting around ever corner: secret stairways, hideaways, pools, outdoor "rooms", and even a railway! The new has a selection of hot and cold items with both indoor and outdoor seating. The is really nice and has a huge selection of things that would charm a gardener of every age. Tickets should be booked ahead online. Open daily. Well the trip! The are absolutely gorgeous!!! I walked around for two hours even though it was raining! I have so many photos that will definitely become paintings! There is a very selection of products in the shop! The food is very good. Hot chocolate is delicious! The banoffee didn’t have much bananas… The employees don’t seem to know what they need to do. But maybe they were in training. We really enjoyed there. Different trees and plants. Juliet, we were headed to Waterford. I had previously read reviews about the at Mt. Congreve, and convinced my group we should stop on our way because Congreve is only about 5 kilometers from Waterford. The decision was one of the best last minute changes we made to our itinerary during our two weeks in Ireland. The and buildings on the estate were stunning. We wished we had more time to spend strolling the grounds. It is a must see stop if you have two hours or more when in or near Waterford. Late Autumn calm... Although early in the season the are serene and calming. I can only imagine how and colourful it will be as spring progresses. The paths are well marked with clear informative signage and plentiful with lots of little paths and steps to explore. Views I've the river are stunning too. I hadn't been since school trips in the 80s but am looking forward to another visit when flowers are in bloom. Fabulous trees, gorgeous walks, lots of colour all year round. Magnolia season is spectacular but my visit in September did not disappoint. The Foxford is beautiful. There is a small reduction if you book on line. The Plant Fair in Spring is well attending too. My favourite place for a day out. with trails, secret stairways and amazing bushes, trees and flowers. A place for a walk or picnic, a place for children to play, paths and interesting plants, a place to relax Went in March when the magnolia was everywhere. It was magical. Planned to go again in May and didn't think it would be as since the magnolia would be finished but it was even better. The wisteria made the day. Its such a unique place. I was a bit put out at first that you have to pay in but its well it. Had afternoon tea today for a friends baby shower at The Stables at Mount Congreve. I could not recommend them more. Nelson was a pleasure to deal with. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. They were so accommodating and gave us a gorgeous private room. The food was incredible and there was so much for everyone. Fantastic value for money and such a place to celebrate any occasion. I was there with my wife at table 2 and I payed at 11:15 with bank card. Easy to check. The original review is below. This review is about the coffee and not the garden. Today morning we visited the coffee for a nice breakfast as some of our friends recommended it a few times. We were one of the first visitors. The food was cold, the orange juice was watered up, and one of my bacon slices was already consumed as a bite mark was clearly visible. I hope the chef was hungry and not a re-served breakfast leftover was what I had. Scone was cold and small, like a regular Aldi one. The toast was burnt. To say something positive: the espresso and the cappuccino were surprisingly good. (They were fresh obviously.) All in all: food never again from there. Coffee is a totally different beast, I'd go for it anytime. I photographed a small wedding here earlier this year and it was incredible! My clients had a small ceremony in the library, which has a cosy, old-world charm about it, and then we got to explore the gardens. Fiona in particular was great, driving us around so we could see more in less time. She also knows the really well and was able to recommend the best stops for photos. The new eco-cabins on site were also perfect for ease of access and charm. Overall, highly recommend for small weddings, I'd happily go back!! is great, the issue is the food. The food in the has been consistently getting worse over the past year. The food used to be great. Visited recently and the food was so bland and tasted stale. Visited this house and over St Patrick’s weekend. I thought the were with little trails to follow and lots of stunning specimen trees. If you love Magnolias and Camellias you will adore it. The house is stunning too, I’d love to do a tour of it too if this becomes possible in the future. I thought the audio presentation on the family who owned the house and was very interesting and well done, the Stables and gift I thought was too - food was very and normal kind of prices. It’s on the Greenway too so it would make such a drop off point for refreshments.
