John’s wealth of knowledge and passion for the history, paired with his infectious energy and sense of humour, made every day so enjoyable. We learned so much, and he showed us some true gems! The van was comfortable, and the route / stops were laid out perfectly. John took the needs of every one of us into consideration, and skillfully tweaked and adjusted along the way based on situational weather and any essential quick breaks required. Thanks to John, we were able to capture incredible photos and make unforgettable memories along the way. But, what really made this stand out was the incredible vibe John created for the group—informative, welcoming, inclusive, fun, and full of positive energy. It brought the together in such a natural way, and we ended up leaving with new friendships that we’ll cherish. It was absolutely the highlight of our trip! 5-stars, hands down - a must-do! :) Scotland’s Wild is an OUTSTANDING company! We just completed two one-day tours and also a 10 day private all around Scotland including the Orkney, Lewis & Harris, and Hebrides islands. This company focused on our interests and comfort. Our guides Warren, Matt and Perry were all excellent with a special recognition to Matt McLeod for his outstanding care, expertise and friendship during our extended tour. We loved learning about the history, geography and culture of Scotland. Matt helped us find my wife’s genealogical roots and we visited a castle built by her ancestors. We are also Outlander/Harry Potter/DaVinci Code/Downton Abbey fans and Matt, Perry and Warren helped us explore these many film sites all around Scotland. The staff, particularly Allem, were wonderful in planning our reservations and logistics. You can do no better than to with this wonderful touring company. I had a blast on this tour! Five days of fun with Jim on the Outer Hebrides in early September. I decided to let someone else do the driving and was not disappointed as I got to look at beautiful Scotland as Jim drove and provided great commentary. The best thing about the for me was that even though we had diverse ages (some 70-80) and capabilities, I got to do all the things I signed up for including climbing up and down Knockan Crag in the blowing rain - it's what you do in Scotland! I had a nice chat with John (Owner) before I booked to make sure it was the right for me. All in all, would highly with the caveat that you do your own research - check their site, ask questions and understand schedules - mention that as it was up early and busy all day ; ). Special thanks to Jim to introducing me to the wild side of Scotland, his Scottish playlist and in general for making sure the crazy Canuck didn't fall off any cliffs. We’ve just finished the 3 day Highlands & Isle of Skye with the absolutely brilliant Georgie. It was truly a phenomenal experience, with a perfect mix of natural scenery, Scottish ingenuity, history, culture, and the highlight of the - coos. Georgie was knowledgeable, warm, funny, and engaging. She went above and beyond and did a fantastic job of bringing our small together. I cannot this highly enough. Thanks so much Georgie! I did the 3 day Isle of Skye with John Macrae as my guide. I highly, highly recommend! It was a smaller, intimate group, 8 of us total. John is very personable, humorous & accommodating. He was great at reading the room & improvising when necessary, even adding in some bonus stops. One of which was a place I REALLY wanted to visit but didn't think I would have the time to see while in Scotland. Almost every single stop left my breathless, and not wanting to leave. My birthday was coming up 2 days after the end of the tour, John & the even sang me happy birthday in the van before we all got dropped off. Very wholesome moment. One of many. Strangers quickly became friends. This was very easily one of the highlights during my 8 days in Scotland. John was incredibly kind, informative, and created a lovely atmosphere where strangers became friends while we saw the most beautiful sites I’ve ever seen. There wasn’t a moment I wouldn’t want to relive. John was able to adjust the itinerary for the weather and the needs and wants of everyone on tour. I will be recommending this to everyone I know and meet. It was the highlight of my 10-day trip in Scotland. I wish it had been longer! I booked this in late October so around 5pm it gets dark and the drive back you don’t see much. Still, it was everything I wanted and hoped for. My guide was Cameron and did an amazing job. He curated a Scottish playlist for us and had lots of stories and facts to tell. We were able to get donuts at the little cart that’s in front of the entrance to the hermitage and other great food places, so if you’re worried you’ll be hungry you definitely won’t be. What was best about the company is it is small groups which makes the in my opinion so much better. Would do any and all of their tours again! We took a one day from Edinburgh into the Highlands and it was perfect! Our guide Chris was wonderful. He shared great information on the history and folklore of Scotland. He also made minor adjustments to our plans, based on the group’s interests and timing so we got to see a few extra spots in Glencoe. The sites were absolutely breathtaking. I would highly booking with Scotland’s Wild, you will not be disappointed! I just got back from my 10-day trip to Scotland, and the Scotland’s Wild 1-day Alnwick Castle and 3-day Isle of Skye were truly the highlights of my entire trip! The small size made the feel so much more personal and far less like a typical tourist transaction. I also took a day with another company after my tours with Scotland’s Wild and the difference was drastic and honestly, I deeply regreted not booking that with Scotland’s Wild. I’ll be recommending Scotland’s Wild to everyone — in fact, I’m already planning another trip to Scotland just so I can join more of their tours. Their drivers/guides are such cool people: friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to share recommendations. The 3-day Isle of Skye was perfect! The scenery, the people, but must importantly the guide. John MacRae is AMAZING I'd give him 10 stars if I could! He created such a warm and welcoming environment in the van. He genuinely cared and listened to everyone’s needs and wishes, tailoring the as needed to make sure we all had an amazing time. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, and you can tell he truly loves what he does. (Also, amazing taste in music!) I’m so grateful to John for making the such an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere he created was pure joy — I often forgot he was working because it all felt so natural and fun. Those three days honestly felt more like a road trip with friends. I can't it enough! We went on a Glencoe and Highland's in November. Fabulous weather with the benefit of few tourists on spot. Love the colours of the fall! Also enjoyed basically a private among ourselves as there was only one other person with us. Extra big thanks to Matt, who was the most excellent guide and tolerated our constant "20 questions" episode. He was really fun and outgoing with a great sense of humor. This was hands down my favorite in Scotland! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and I loved learning about all the history along the way. Our guide, Georgie, was fantastic! so friendly! and knowledgeable, and made the day really special. If you’re only in Scotland for a few days, this is the perfect way to the magic of the Highlands, Loch Ness, and Glencoe. I’ll never forget it!
