Beautiful location immersed in the nature. Don't expect the classic though, it's more like a very big ancient villa. Great park to have just a walk as well I was not able to go inside. Beautiful and view, even when it rains :) From Wikipedia : Heeze Castle (Dutch: Kasteel Heeze) used to be the centre of the seigneury of Heeze, Leende and Zesgehuchten, part of the Duchy of Brabant. In the Middle Ages, it was owned by the de Horne family. I really enjoyed the tour and our guide Joost was very informative. This was by far my favorite stop on the tour (self drive). All is kept nice and tidy so you really have that "castle" feeling. There are but a few rules but they are enforced which is probably why it is so well kept (dogs on leash, no trespassing for photos, no littering...) If you want to see more than the moat, the porter's house (from the other side of the moat) you do well to call in advance. Photo shoots are possible if agreed upon beforehand. Rogue visits are NOT appreciated! Be polite and call beforehand- there is still a family living here. #48Heeze beautiful surroundings, for a walk or bike ride. The 17th Century is open for tours on appointment ( it is supposed to have a fine collection of Gobelin tapestries. It was not open when I visited so I didn't get to take a peek. #railthetrails We had a fantastic day here. Lots to do for children and the food and drinks were great. Enormous in Heeze.
