Never realised how amazing and the history that goes with them can be! Such a child friendly environment. And a great time to experience so much about right down to the manufacturing of them. I was pleasantly surprised by this museum! One of the highlights was a demonstration by a knowledgeable worker who showed us how the bell works, which was absolutely amazing to see. It was a real treat to get such a detailed and engaging explanation of this intricate piece of machinery. Went for the Halloween event and has a blast. A very charming with exceptionally friendly staff. The exhibits cover the history of De Peel, the fascinating story of bells, as well as an impressive collection of bird specimens, fossils, and skeletons of ancient animals. A visit typically takes about 1.5 hours. My friend and I truly enjoyed our time here. Love coming here once in while. Mostly interesting and always refreshing contents. With plenty of things to do for all ages inside as well as outside you won't get bored easily, whenever you feel like taking a break there is a canteen where you can order some food and drinks. In short: if you are close by then this is a must see. I guarantee you it will be well worth your time. Good introduction to and clock mechanisms. Excellent displays including natural history and the deep sea video experience is excellent. Helpfull Staff on hand demonstrate and full instruments some played by the J Strauss orchestra. Clean toilets, good cafe and free local parking. Well recommended Experience. What a nice museum, this really surprised me. Beautiful surroundings , well maintained garden an at the inside actually 2 different kinds of museums. The “Klok” say church bell is stunning , so many examples, a good guided tour. The “Peel” is about the history of the region where you are. A must see surprise! Exciting museum! You can try almost all the bells, they are sound very gooooood! There are of all sizes and types along with information about the "peel", which is an area that once was a mixture of woods and marshes, if I understood correctly. Along with this there are static animal displays showing the ones that lived, and live, in the peel. We went there on a "Pumpkin Day Festival" This year it run from 11-19 October 2025. It was nice, plenty of activities for the kids to do. We have the card so the entrance was free, but some of the activity inside you have to pay extra for. Soap making €3 Candle making €3 Pumpkin decoration €3.5 It was fun and we got to keep everything so its not bad. Beside that they are - free face paint (we waited 1.5 hours for it😅) - free sample soup - free tiny games (fishing, bouncing house, etc.) -free "train" ride around the town - And many more Maybe will come back again next year. Visited just after the punkin days, so still able to see some of the pumpkins outside. Very nice to see the different bells, the nature part felt a bit small though. The staff was incredibly kind and informative.
