Update 2 november. We went to the So What's Next Jazz Festival on Saturday. The festival was enjoyable and nicely organized, with a manageable layout. There were some great artists who were definitely worth seeing. However, a major downside was that the sound technicians struggled to get the sound right. This was especially noticeable during Vincent García and Al Di Meola’s performances. The artists seemed irritated, which was understandable. Other than that, we had a great time. The food, however, left much to be desired. Poor catering with high prices—bland pasta that was truly disappointing. --- Attended a at the Muziekgebouw for the first time. It's a beautiful with great acoustics. If I had known that the seats from row 8 onward were tiered, I would have bought tickets for row 8. A detail for next time. We saw Mark Lettieri at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2023. Back then, in my opinion, he was given too a stage. Now, he was here with a full orchestra, and it was amazing. I love it. The string section was beautiful, actually, the whole orchestra was fantastic. It's a shame you can't really eat there. We arrived 30 minutes before the start. There is a bar, space for cathering, tables, sofas, some stations with business were organised as well. Upsdtairs there is room with a stage. Not huge, but quite big. I enjoyed it. And all of it is located INSIDE the shopping mall, Heuvel, or soemthing like that. Nearby there is a public parking lot, on open air, but if you drive further you will also find closed ones. Booked to see Alison Moyet in here. Nice but strange, in that you cannot book seats, so becomes a 1st come, 1st served type of scenario. For this reason we turned up early, but the setup for the queue, which is inside a mall, was completely chaotic. People queued in a circular, snake type layout, and as soon as the doors opened, all those people in the middle, who had arrived much later, swarmed the front doors, forcing many others back. It was extremely badly managed by the and very frustrating and unfair for those people who had turned up early, specifically because they needed access to seats. Outside of the badly managed queue, the was nice, clean, and enough to ensure a more intimate type concert. Very nice and intimate location to experience the Candlelight Concerts. There are ni bad seats in the house in the room and the are great. Chairs are comfortable too. The personnel was friendly and helpful. I would recommend attending an event in this venue. I very much enjoyed Sohn and the Metropole Orchestra's performance at this beautiful venue. The are excellent too. Well worth the visit from the UK, and I shall return for future events. Eindhoven was a lovely place to visit. Outstanding acoustics, beautiful performance, and magical atmosphere. So thankful to have been able to share the experience with my son.
