The work that has been done to restore this medieval castle and grounds is extremely impressive. It’s a nice spot high on the hill that over looks the valley. The chapel in the middle is nice to imagine by the outline of the exterior walls. The wood walkways along with all the artifacts photos and written history makes this a great spot to stop and see. The price is affordable and the staff friendly and area clean of trash. There is also the a exhibition by a Romanian sculpture Very nice attraction. Some say that the reconstruction wasn't made according to the historical standards but at least it was rebuilt. And it's all even better considering it was rebuilt from ruins with lots of details and care, making it a joy to visit. It’s worth visiting if you’re into Medieval buildings. The site is renovated and gives access to the the wall. Some interesting artifacts like spurs. And for the art lovers, there is some unknown and little understood modern art. A marvelous place that’s been beautifully brought back ro life though stories, pictures, architecture, and music! We had a lovely time discovering its incredible history and truly appreciated the warmth of the staff. Highly recommended! The citadel is quite small, but cozy and warm. The view from the small hill is nice and you can see the vast fields around it l. We visited it during early spring so I bet during the summer is way nicer. Very well preserved site. However, it is difficult to liaise with any ancestors that might have fight on this area... Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Transylvania, Feldioara Citadel stands as a testament to Romania’s rich history and architectural legacy. Its imposing walls and storied past invite visitors on a captivating journey through time. Feldioara Citadel, a jewel of medieval Saxon fortifications in southern Transylvania, boasts white walls, red roofs, and a meticulously manicured inner courtyard. The architecture seamlessly blends military precision with medieval charm, leaving you in admiration of its preservation. As we explored its chambers, halls, and balconies, we felt the echoes of the past. Battles against invading forces, cultural shifts, and daily life—all etched into its stones. The fortress offers a glimpse into medieval inhabitants' lives, struggles, and triumphs. Beyond its historical attraction, Feldioara Citadel is embraced by serene landscapes. Breathtaking views of hills and valleys unfold around it. We immersed ourselves in both history and nature, savoring every moment. Built from scratch based on some remaining ruins. Worth visiting. The view from here is excellent. You can see event till Făgăraș mountains. For the view I do not share images, but I invite you to see the place thru your own eyes. Small place, interesting to visit. It is on the way from Brasov to Sighisoara. If one has time to spare it is just 30’ stop. Small renovated very tastefull over the years 15 L to enter this morning and accepts a card Very handy pamphlet and nearby towns attractions which is rare these days No one around Small information plaques in english talking about various parts of the citadel Some explanations also only in Romanian We parked right outside You are passing the town drop in Recently reconstruced very nice looking castle. You really get a feeling of what it looked like back in the 17th century. I highly recommand visiting it if you are close by. The entry tickets are quiet cheap At the entrance, the lady at the ticket office was very kind and welcoming :)) The castle itself is truly beautiful, and the visit is very well organized. It really feels like the local community came together to bring the history of the castle to life and to create the space around it, which is super cool. The place might seem a bit modest at first glance, but it’s full of charm and turned out to be a wonderful surprise. I really enjoyed my visit and definitely recommend it! It looks well from the outside. I didn't see from inside. Ticket price is 20lei (a little too high if you ask my opinion) , discounts are applicable for students and other categories. The road is good, 100-200m until the citadel without asphalt Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
