I really enjoy visiting visiting this site, and it's a must-see if you are in Viljandi! Viljandi Hills has the remains of the Viljandi in Estonia which was destroyed in the 17th century. The ground is converted into a beautiful park and cultural center, where music concerts are held. The hill offers panoramic view of the Viljandi lake and the surrounding landscape. There is suspension bridge that connects the hills to the town. Wonderful place to visit in Estonia. So many wars left the in ruins, but not defeated. It stands still. Right now all the hill is a beautiful and peaceful place, perfect for festivals. Once we crossed the suspension bridge we were welcomed with an amazing view of these medieval court ruins. Cute little village to stop - we were driving from Tallinn to Siguldas. Easy and short stroll through the village. We visited Viljandi on our first stop travelling from Tallinn to Riga. It was a memorable time for me to walk through this Livonian from a long ago era. The ruin will take you to ancient times. The view of the lake up from the hill is outstanding.
