The was small but OK. The floor looked pretty worn and the bathroom was pretty cold. No free WiFi is not up to date nowadays. The staff is really friendly and the Restaurant offers tasty food. After 2 years on no touring I finally took advantage of the early-June warm weather and headed out. I rode the Moselle River till Zell then up the backroads finally arriving at the Landhotel Karrenberg. This is one of the most welcoming places I have even been to. Everyone working here is very professional and helpful (you’ll read that below). I chose this from their Google listing. Their reviews were mostly very positive and wanted to see if I felt comfortable bringing my with me for the night as well as how was it to work from. I visit places as part of my #WorkFromAnywhere project. I almost always arrive by with a laptop. I want to see if I can get work done and feel my is safe. My reviews are more for those working from home who want a break or tourists. This is not a hotel/food review. From there I rode my up the Moselle River past the beautiful Cochem with its castle and the steep vineyards just hanging onto the slopes. This is day 1 of a 3 day tour. Arriving at the Landhotel Karrenberg I felt I had entered a park. There is so much green around this with chairs, tables and activities all over the place. I finished this review out in the “park” on on of their “Liegen” of benches. This places welcomes bikers, usually those with bigger motors then mine so the “bike clothing” test was easy. I parked outside the entrance but their was no rack or place to lock up to. I quickly checked in and asked where I might park it overnight and was told they have garages where I can park it. Perfect! Still, the garage is no visible from the and the door gets opened in the morning so locking the is important but again nowhere to lock it to. Not a deal breaker but worth noting. If you are a group of cyclists then there is plenty of space for all the bikes. Working here is ok. As mentioned there are many places to relax, and honestly that is what this place is about - relaxing. I needed that after the long day’s ride. The WiFi is good. the desk in the has many outlets for power just the usual power near the bed was hidden behind the bed’s headboard. Again, no deal breaker but worth noting. the was very clean and offered everything I needed. Dinner was great and again the staff very friendly and supportive. Breakfast buffet had all I need plus an apple to take on the next ride. A very nice place out in the woods with plenty of to explore and relax. The Landhotel is so proud of their offering that on the back of each door there is a QR code which when scanned takes you directly to their Google listing! That is a business which takes their services as well as their online presence seriously. From a #WorkFromAnywhere perspective it gets a 4 out of 5 since the only place to get power is in the room. The garden and area around the is worth exploring which might generate a new idea, or two! We love this little gem in the countryside. Very nice people, great food and service. Been there a few times and it's always very enjoyable. The dinner shows on offer are great! Nice and quiet place in between fantastic Green area. Accommodation for a reasonable price with very clean rooms fantastic service and retro bathrooms from 70’s but still work😀 Food in the restaurant delicious - taste it! Pillows to big to hard and to warm with high summer temperatures. The staff was very friendly, one of the best we ever encountered. The was good and the is situated in a green area. Also the restaurant is recommend, both for breakfast as for dinner. good food, very nice lady managing the hotel! Area is beautiful.
