Ayr Harbour Sky Hook

Ayr, United Kingdom Historical landmark

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. I walked along without really paying attention, so when I stopped and looked up I was quite amused. The rational part of my brain doesn't want to accept it's possible... But spend a few seconds thinking about it and then you can enjoy the sculpture Impressive looking, gravity defying, sculpture. Chain, tackle and lifting hook embedded in, what looks like, a huge sandstone rock. Probably in tribute to local dock workers lifting heavy loads out of ships. Sculptor unknown, date of installation unknown, would love to find out more. Could see no information board nearby, about this impressive artwork. It's hard to find out what it's about but it's a good sculpture brilliant place just to sit and relax and enjoy the view.. Lovely beach bit next to the pier and these were my views.. ... my partner went to fish and I had the dog on the beach... Recently painted makes it even more impressive against the Ayr port industrial background It has been painted red. Looks cute. beautiful beach walk I took this photo the other day to reminisce my days serving the Coastguard in Ayr sitting in this watchtower in blowing Gales recording Fishing vessels going out and returning with their catch happy days,My grandfather recieving the B.E.M for services saving lifes at Sea One of nice spot for spend time Erm……..Google has asked me ‘ how was Ayr Harbour Sky Hook’. Well, if you take a look at the pictures you can see exactly how it is, yes, it’s a gravity defying chain and hook, it was good enough that I took pictures of it but it’s not a thing that you would go out of your way to see. We just happened to be walking past. We just went for a walk around Ayr to see what it was like. Nice beach as it happens and good to see dedicated bays for motor homes near the beach. There’s a few nice looking buildings but also fairly run down areas of the town too. clean Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
