Yet, following remodelling and refurbishment in recent times it has a contemporary feel. Pleasant enough place for a pint and, at least while there, music was in the background, not over-powering, so good for easy conversation. Called in for a coffee & cake after finding other places full on the harbour. What a find!! Lots of indoor seating on two levels, bar stool & table or normal chair & table, the place had a continental feel with the decor and layout which made it such a nice place to be. The service was friendly, welcoming and polite 👏😊 deserves a better location to reward the owner's vision. Will remember this place We visited on a sunny but windy day, but soon discovered the beer garden was sheltered from the wind, turning it into a fab sun trap Nice cold drinks, reasonable prices and friendly staff make it somewhere I'd love to come back to and top up my beer garden tan. You may even need to come inside and cool down! Great bar, great beer garden, reasonably priced drinks, and very quirky locals. I stopped dancin just to capture it New to the area....Made a terrible mistake thinking this might be family friendly at 4pm to pop in... awful first experience ..was given a packet of crisp that were stale so checked date they went out of date 23rd of December 2022 today is the 1st of January 2023) which is fine....mistakes happen so I went to the bar to KINDLY ask for a replacement (with a smile on my face)- I was confronted with a very angry and confrontational members of staff! Arguing the date, that they only went of yesterday and theres nothing she can do about it....i presume it was a manager that gave me my money back and when i asked why are the staff so angry... i was told to not worry about it and brushed off....Not acceptable, unnecessary behavior and and absolutely awful experience. Visited few beers great staff a warm welcome Loved this place. Went on a Friday night around 9pm, they had live music on, great little bar - lively enough to get you going but you can avoid getting pushed around. Decent beer selection and great tunes. Also worth seeing the sunset from here (you’re about 40 yards away from the marina front). Recommended!! Lovely clean place. Nice staff and good atmosphere with background music. The only reason why it didn't get 5 star's was the price. It's not rip off but not cheap. Would defo go again.
