This is a pleasant place to have a drink/meal but unfortunately it does not seem to be doing a lot of business. We visited on March 1st for a birthday celebration and we were the only diners there. It is nicely decorated, comfortable and the waitress was a delight. Prices are ok, the food good and the service relaxed so all in all very pleasant. The menus are a 50/50 split between Indian and standard British. Quiet but done out nice, just popped in for a quick one Food is awesome but little expensive and the quantity is less..please see the pic Stayed here for a couple of nights, looks all newly renovated. Owner more than happy to help with anything. Reasonably big car park - felt safe. Lovely rooms, spotlessly clean, super comfortable beds and a quiet nights sleep. Food is also nice and reasonably priced, there are two menus, Indian menu and typical pub food. Handy place to stop over and will be back again :) The High Corner has been recently (5th September 2024) opened under new ownership, and has been totally renovated and resigned. The new owners are so friendly and very welcoming. And were genuinely pleased to see us. The food we had was full of flavour. Large portion. And very delicious. But here's where the problem lays, I don't think the owners know what they want the place to be. Is it a pub? Is it a bar? Is it an Indian restaurant? They need to make a choice. And make it clear outside what the place is. They could partition the large area into two and have a bar area and then a restaurant area. The music was too loud and not in keeping with an Indian restaurant theme. But all that aside, we will definitely go back as the family who now own it are so welcoming and we want them to succeed in their venture. It's well worth a visit. The food is freshly cooked and delicious. The menu can be tweaked, you only need to ask. This is a quiet venue and allows you to have a conversation without having to shout. I would highly recommend eating here. This is now an Indian restaurant with a Sunday roast menu. Came here for the first time since new owners took over, was not disappointed lovely welcoming atmosphere met by a warm friendly staff, food was lovely cooked fresh, proper chips! And huge portions will definitely be returning would recommend too Only had a pint with family and friends but lovely welcome Food smells georgous, which be going back fo a meal soon Went there for a meal lasted Thursday, had a mixed grill this one is for you if you're a meat lover. Plenty of meat all tasty thoroughly enjoyed it but didn't manage to finish it, took the rest home. Definitely recommend it will be making many further visits. Steve.
