This was a idea for kids. We did the pirate themed one aimed for 8+. It was a little tricky but you are helped with clues when you need it. The host, Jack, was fully engaging, especially with the kids, and made it so much fun for them. We are at least a little more prepared for an now! It was our first at Houdinis rooms specifically but we each had a blast and Liz, (booking ALC) our master was brill-she took the role in her stride and humoured our silly sense of humour. She was also at prodding us with her cryptic yet helpful clues. I am definitely coming back and hopefully soon. And if Liz is the master next time, even better as she really sold the and in all jest and good fun. Honestly, for the rooms I have done before, this is the first where the games master seemed to enjoy it and in turn we enjoyed it more. Thanks Liz! Also, the hotel style 19th century theme where you book is cool as. Had a night, didn’t manage to complete the room, but Jack made it so enjoyable!! Probably the best master I’ve ever had! As a family (2 adults and 2 kids age 9 & 11) we booked Captain Blackhearts Curse whilst on holiday in Chester. The was but far too warm. Bex was and giving us clues through the parrot speaker really added to the experience. We made it out with only 9 minutes to spare and were given the opportunity to have a photo taken in the at the end. I'd have given 5 stars for this experience. We enjoyed it so much, we booked from Alcatraz for the next day. This was a much trickier room, though the first padlock hasn't been reset and was already open. Noah (who was lovely) had to come into the each we needed help and rather than clues, we were pretty much shown or told what to do. We felt the music/background noise was too loud and distracting in this one. We made it out with just 2 minutes to spare. We were disappointed not to be given a photo opportunity in this room. If this had been our first experience, I don't think we'd have booked to go back. 13 was a and really well thought out room. Definitely wouldn’t have completed it without a little nudge from our host Harley who helped explain everything perfectly to us before we started as well. 100% going to come back and do some more in the future. Thank you This was an experience. I went in with my sister and a few friends, on the pirate adventure. We discovered many challenges along the way which were soon tackled. Through the adventure it was amazing, the decorations and the gloomy music were so great. Our guide jack was as he told us all about an since non of us had done it before and he was an help. So if your up for a pirate adventure whith family and freinds join in. Had a really in the pirate room, Liz was absolutely incredible and knew just when to help our group out without breaking the immersion of the and staying in context. Really highly recommend!
