What a lovely village sitting between Porthmadog and Powder House Bay on the banks of the Glaslyn river - this tidal area has so many benefits - it's intimate setting laced with historic buildings and landmarks - with wildlife and sea birds of wonderful variety - a couple of excellent restaurants in the Seaview and Moorings - both run by lovely people and having excellent food and service - highly recommended Like being in Italy! Stunning. Beautiful beaches and quaint little town. A couple of cafes and plenty to explore. Well worth a visit and wonder. Borth Y Gest is a little hamlet just south of Porthmadog, we stayed in a rented cottage with friends for a week .The village is very clean with a small beach and great views across the bay with mountains in the background. There is a great restaurant and coffee shop but no other shops ,Porthmadog is approximately 10 minutes away by car or 40 minutes walk which is quite pleasant to walk ,some part is up hill . Lovely cafe by the carpark. Lots if lovely dishes to choose from. Very enjoyable lunch. Very pretty village with lots of coastal paths to explore. Great to just relax and go walking on the coastal path On of my favourite villages, so nice and quiet and lovely beach! Very well maintained setting, big feather in local resident's cap. Worth the trip to this small little harbour. Beautiful little harbour on the lower road between Porthmadog and Morfa bychan. Once home to shipbuilding , a favourite for retired ships Captains and officers. Arms outstretched to the tides of the Cambrian bay offering views across to Harlech , Barmouth and beyond Multi-coloured front doors reminiscent of Tobermory. A few guest houses, small hotels and delightful tea rooms. Car parking and public toilets. Good for leisurely rambles to Black rock sands maybe Cricieth or Porthmadog closer by to the east. Good dogs welcome. Sheltered little micro climate. Pretty little peaceful place . Litter droppers will be executed. amazing beaches, after finished played golf. We went down had a picnic on the beach. Such a fabulous beach with lots of sheltered spots . Kids loved kayaking and watching boats and jet skis .Stunning location .. Love it here, been coming back for 30+ years.
