Decent bit of food and a nice place to sit outside and observe the trains. Great place to grab a bite, right on the station, with views for the trains. Great food well prepared at a good price see pictures below Came here for a meal with a bunch of friends, not a single person at the table had a complaint to give. Food came quite prompt and all at the same time, drinks were immediate. Staff were smiley and accommodating. Wonderful night out at a reasonable price! Would recommend Lovely place and delicious food, you have to order from the cafe counter, but they will bring the food to your table. The wait time was a bit long but it was worth the wait. I will 100% recommend the loaded fries (it's more than you expect, trust me). The other dishes we ordered were hunters chicken and jacked potato with ham and cheese. The parking behind the pub is for train access and we were not allowed to park there, however there are plenty of parking spaces nearby (behind the shell nearby the pub), we paid 2.20£ for 4h parking This would have been 5 stars but it does lack a certain amount of atmosphere as it is more like a restaurant than a pub. It was my wife's birthday, so we popped for lunch. The young man who served the drinks was very pleasant and there was a great choice of ales as well as the usual drinks. My wife and I decided to have fish and chips etc. We both said that they should serve half portions as well as the full sized ones. It was very nice, most of it, but the batter on my wife's fish was slightly over cooked, and really the batter overall was too much, which prevented us from getting at all the fish. Lovely and friendly staff. When we went there was plenty of space to sit as a family. The food basket for on your train journey is value for money. All are excited because you can see the trains come by from the cafe while you wait for your train. Writing on behalf of myself and the wife, would love to be able to give the place 5 stars however there are a few areas that require improvement. We visited a few times on our holiday. Firstly, the food was splendid - absolutely no complaints in regard to wait time and quality. However, we take issue with the customer service skills of some staff members. In particular, our breakfast visitation. The older lady on the counter is whom we assume previous reviews have been about, as we very much felt we were treated differently on the premise of we are not Welsh nor Welsh-speaking; in comparison to customers in the vicinity that were. That was made abundantly clear and it was not a very welcoming atmosphere, the lady is very aggressive in her approach/way of speaking. Furthermore, the other woman present was very zombie-like. We decided to not re-visit for breakfast. However, the two occasions we visited for evening meals were vastly different. Ann behind the bar is very friendly and pleasant, always seemed open to conversation. The young lady, I believe her name was either Chloe or Rosie was lovely and very accommodating greeting us with a smile both times. Osian (apologies if spelt incorrectly), despite seeming more on the anxious side was also very accommodating and hard-working. Would visit again, dependant on what time of day it is. Which is a shame as the breakfast meals were well done.
