Dog pub on the side of the road between Helston and Marazion. Portions were a decent size (pasta is a half portion) and good value. Staff were and pub was pretty busy for a wet midweek lunchtime. Nice. Good food and service, glad we booked as it was busy, plenty of choice on the menu and on the specials board. First visit to this pub local to where we were staying in Perranuthnoe. It was recommended by a village local so we walked there instead of taking the car (about 40 mins if you fancy this) Anyway, onto the pub itself. A greeting on arrival. We had not booked but a was available (fortunately! Think I'll book next time we visit). Excellent service, we both ordered the fish and chips and a drink. Food arrived quickly and we enjoyed every last mouthful. Paid the bill which was very reasonable and headed back on our walk knowing we will return again. We had our dog with and the pub was very dog which extended beyond the pub itself to the other customers sat around the bar. We'll be back! Des plats délicieux, un service agréable, le meilleur restaurant anglais où nous avons mangé durant notre séjour de cinq jours dans le sud ouest de l'Angleterre. This has to be the best Sunday pub roast I have ever had. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was out of this world (especially the roast beef brisket). It was a very busy pub but the service was still flawless. Love this place and will definitely be back. Busy. Good. Large car park attached to the building. Outside place also available to eat. We booked a table, so no wait. Quick service. Decent size beer garden and the pub itself was dog friendly. Ordered a hog sausage roll each and when the two portions came the size would not even be the same size as a Greg's sausage roll. All In all Including the coleslaw 6 mouthfuls and gone .Nothing special. £12 rip off. Drinks were reasonable for the area. Would not eat there again sorry Very dog and very reasonable prices. We ate here a couple of nights ago (midweek) and I had one of the best steaks I have had in quite a while. Juicey and cooked exactly how I requested. My wife had the Hallumi buger and thought it was wonderful. This followed by sticky toffee pudding and a lemon posset with raspberry sorbet finished off a very, very nice meal. Service was quick and very and our Dogue de Bordeaux, Eva thought the home made pork scratchings served in a tin mug were to die for! We will definitely be eating there again. 1 We where visiting the butterfly sanctuary on a Sunday in begining of Aug. The busiest time summer and Sunday roasts.. did not expect to get a seat ... We took a gamble and popped in because it was a dog pub . First thing apon walking in a guy with his dog on a dog chair , of course our lady sat on one too .m and I loved this about this place . They also where helpful and accommodated us happily . The guy server had fantastic banter and humour. 2 course or 3 on a Sunday roast . And oh my gosh THEBEEF BRISKET .. pure and utter filth(in a good way) this has sold me .. it was a great sized meat 🍖 and tastes amazing... so much so as soon as summer ends we be travelling over from newquay again .with shadow the dog and boys ..who want to try the beef brisket ... I hope it be same size portion of meat.... you don't mind paying when it tastes good(AMAZING INFACT) and a good/fair portion... x.. . If your in the area it is a great place to eat .. a all rounder winner ... I Have told quite a few of my clients since . Really great pub. Sunday lunch was great today. Thanks chef (whoever you are). Everything just right from the spuds and sides to the meat and extra gravy. Service and bar staff really and genuine too. Had a lovely time. And a reasonable price too, which is great. Lovely quaint pub Booked here for Sunday lunch at two o'clock at three o'clock still waiting with no updates and had enough waiting and walked out and won't be back. Went for Sunday dinner..food really good and nice atmosphere with live jazz music (not our thing but hey-ho)…our first time trying this pub for food and will deffo go back for some food…! Booked table, had to wait outside for to be ready had to remind staff still waiting Waited an hour for food Had Autistic child and 92 year old unacceptable wait I recently took my Mother, who lives locally, to The Packet for an evening meal. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Mum had the Fish Chowder, which she found very nice. I had the Rib Eye steak, which was shown as being from a local butcher, but my choice was a mistake. Onion Rings were piled on the steak and, when removed, they disguised a HUGE lump of fat. The steak was tough and the fat mass was over a third of the steak. I pointed this out to the waitress who apologised confirmed she would advise the Chef. I thought, mistakenly, there would be a reduction of the bill. When we asked for the bill we were advised we couldn't have it at the but would have to go to the Bar, which was busy. The Bill showed we had been charged full price and as the Waitress was also serving/tending the Bar she wasn't in a position to discuss. We certainly won't rush to return! My wife and I had the most amazing Sunday lunch today. The food is second to none, quite simply the best we have had in many years. The staff, even though the place was very busy, are brilliant. Very welcoming and attentive. I cannot recommend The Packet Inn highly enough. A very well deserved 5 stars.
